Ironically this is the last Peoria Riverplex show for the forseeable future, for reasons I know but cannot disclose. Yeah I'm way late putting out this review...just burned out from writing these.

Live from the Peoria Riverplex. Your host is Scooter. He runs through the lineup, getting to Doug Devore vs. TripC to which a TripC sucks chant rings out.


Josh Powers & Stan Sallinger vs. Party Boy Ray Hez & JC Michaels - Josh Powers is a referee turned wrestler. Guess he's the new Danny Davis or something. There's some stip on this match, but I didn't understand what it was. And the PoP are both in purple. Hez & Michaels seem to be an oddball pairing to me, but then again so is Powers & Sallinger. All four men brawl, the two small guys whip the big guys together, Powers runs into Stan, Hez pushes Josh to the floor. Michaels ducks behind Stan as Hez shoves him over in a schoolboy trip. Haha. JC and Stan start. JC dominates Stan, tag Ray and Josh. Ray suplexes him for two, JC in and tries to do the WORM...and does it badly for a man his size...so Ray drops an elbow. Josh up and grabs Ray in a choke with the boot but goes to the rear headlock. JC back in and hits a side suplex. Josh hits a stun gun on Ray though and tags out. Stan with a neckbreaker, legdrop gets two. Stan sideslam gets two. Splash in the corner, side suplex gets two. Ray tries a crossbody and gets caught, rib breaker, fallaway slam gets two. Josh tags and chokes, suplex gets two. Knee to the gut gets two. They switch, spinebuster...but there's a pullup at two. Moron! Stan kicks away, whip to the corner but misses the charge. Ray manages to lift Stan and hit a reverse DVD. JC and Josh tag in, JC pounds away, double elbows on Josh, Ray grabs him and hits a piledriver for the pin.

WINNERS: Ray Hez & JC Michaels pin -> 10:15 mins. **½

Dennis Devine w/ pNut vs. Axis w/ Kyle Rich - Winner advances to a triple threat title match later. These two were tag partners a few weeks ago. Homo chant on Dennis as he comes out, he spits on someone in response. Heh. Dennis with a slap, Axis slugs away and hits a clothesline. Snap mare and kick Axis, neck snap gets two. Dennis hits a spin kick, kicks away, reverse headscissors that nearly sends Axis out of the ring! Dennis holds Axis for pNut to slap...but she's declining to do so. Devine with a choke using the legs, whip to the corner, Dennis with an INVERTED bronco buster! Eeeek! Devine throws Axis to the floor, bit of a fight, toss in, Kyle Rich throws a baseball bat in, Axis declines to use it, but Dennis tries to use it, pNut pulls it away from him, Dennis shoves her to the floor, Axis with a rollup and pin. Devine and Rich chat, but Axis walks away with pNut. I dunno what the story is with these four.

WINNER: Axis pin -> 5:55 mins. **

Petey Clark vs. "The Monster" Chris Brown - Brown was last seen losing to Kyle Rich, and a stealth loser leaves town clause. That got voided when the real owner of NGW showed up to assert himself, so he's back. But Brown isn't here too often as it is, as he's working in Iraq these days. Yes, IRAQ. This is supposedly a match for a future title shot. Petey gets shoved down three times, Brown powerslam gets two. Clothesline Pete, moonsault gets only ONE. He's a monster! Punches have no effect, clothesline no effect, dropkick no effect. Brown with a reverse neckbreaker, Cory Carter runs out with a chair and whacks him while the ref for some reason has his face pressed against the mat, Petey rolls up Brown and gets a fluke pin. Errrr...

WINNER: Petey Clark pin -> 2:25 mins. ¼*

TripC angrily runs his mouth and says Chris Brown is out of NGW again, but runs like a wuss and hides behind MVP, Black Dragon, Ryan Phoenix and Andy Roberts on crutches. TripC says his four guys are the future of NGW. He says they're taking the tag titles back, but the Geek Council stand up to scoff from the merchandise table. Jester shows up with his PC title, TripC says he'll be defending that belt in a hardcore four way. Big Pappa shows up with the heavyweight title. He says he'll lose to Ryan Phoenix in an anything goes match. Crowd yells at him shut the heck up. And Doug Devore is here, ready for the first blood match later against TripC. Looks like a Mexican Standoff. TripC then brings in a fan from the crowd, since he runs his mouth at him all the time, he'll give him a tryout as a ring announcer. We have a bit of a shoving between TripC and the fan. TripC then says they're gonna win all those belts tonight before they all clear out. So our ring announcer for the rest of this is a big NGW fan.

Submission Match
"The Spotlight" Spencer Powers vs. "Forever Man" Guy Smith - Well lookie here, it's an NMW match! SSP sees me and says I'm "stalking him". Oh yeah, well I've been coming to NGW long before he has so I think he's stalking ME! And Guy Smith, WAS with NMW, but decided to part ways about four months early before his scheduled move to Louisville, KY to train with OVW because of the change in ownership. My opinion is, Guy Smith should swallow his pride and stick it out over there for the last couple of months. He should have his big farewell bout in NMW where most of his fans are out of respect for them. Guy armdrags SSP around and he bails. Once he gets back in, Guy works the arm but SSP drives his knees in, and softens the gut with shoulderblocks. Guy works the arm more as SSP knees him, gut wrench rib breaker. SSP whips him into the corner but eats a boot, yet hits the clothesline and tries for the ab stretch...but Guy hip tosses him. Guy gets caught in a powerslam, and SSP surfs him, going to a body scissors. Guy gets up, SSP charges and gets backdropped outside. Guy slams him on the apron, but SSP tosses him to the post. SSP goes for the ab stretch again, but Guy tosses him out and SSP may have injured his foot. Smith with the million dollar dream, SSP reverses into the ab stretch, Guy reverses to the belly to belly suplex, locks in the dream again, SSP almost goes to sleep but opts to tap out. SSP loses and throws a big tantrum. He needs to quit being such a sore loser. I'll miss Guy in NMW.

WINNER: Guy Smith submission -> 11:10 mins. ***½

PC Championship - Hardcore Match
(c)Jester vs. Buzz Rogers vs. Stumpy vs. Johnny Justice - Everyone slams Buzz in like a three on one, Buzz goes up but gets slammed down, repeated elbows, Stumpy gets a crutch, Stumpy swings but hits Justice. Justice and Jester slug it out, Justice clothesline, Stumpy beats Buzz with the crutch. Justice gets two, the crutch is broke, Justice misses a charge and hits the post. Buzz low blows Stumpy, Jester falcon arrow on Justice gets two. Buzz with a chair, clash of weapons. Rock bottom by Jester on Justice. Chairshot by Buzz on Stumpy, goes in the ring, Justice gets nailed with it. Jester slams Justice, Buzz elbow, Jester clotheslines Buzz, backbreaker gets two. Slam on the floor by Stumpy, CHAIRSHOT on Buzz! Stumpy tosses Jester, MASSIVE CHAIRSHOT on Buzz! Oh boy he's gonna have a concussion! ANOTHER ONE on Buzz! Stumpy covers but Jester breaks it up! Jester DDTs Stumpy! Cover on Buzz gets two. Stumpy rolls out, Jester whips Justice and hits a sideslam for two. Jester chases Stumpy, Buzz doesn't know where he is, Jester hits an unprettier on Stumpy on a chair! Justice clotheslines Buzz...Jester gets two. Jester after Justice, Buzz goes outside and gets a fork! Jester side suplexes Justice! Buzz forks Jester! Justice tries to pull him off, Buzz rolls out and hits the chairs! Stumpy and Justice check on Jester, no blood surprisingly. Buzz sneaks back in, and levels someone with a chair. Jester misses a superkick and nails Justice. Superkick on Stumpy, Buzz swing and a miss, superkick the chair into Buzz and that gets the pin!

WINNER and STILL CHAMP: Jester pin -> 9:05 mins. ***

NGW Tag Team Championship - 2/3 Falls
(c)Geek Council - Dewey Dawson & Gilbert Lewis vs. New Era - MVP & Black Dragon - This match is up on YouTube, though the video doesn't start until everyone's in the ring. First Fall: The New Era immeadiately goes behind up on the support beams and wait. The champs come out and the New Era jumps them with caneshots! Tape starts here, Dragon throws Dewey into the post, MVP stomps Lewis on the floor, near pin on Dawson on the toss in, Russian leg sweep and clip by the New Era and they get the first pin at 25 seconds. Second Fall: Crowd is cussing out what happened. Dragon covers quick but only gets two. Lewis is knocked off, New Era yank Dawson out of the corner but only get two. Dragon gets a drop toe hold, tags MVP and gets a suplex for two. MVP mocks Lewis, Dragon in and they kick him in the corner. Dragon works Dawson over, MVP in with the choke and legdrop for two. MVP whips Dragon into Dawson but he moves and tags Lewis. Lewis with a BOOT, dumps MVP out, Dragon gets picked up and BOOTED down for three. Third Fall: Battering ram by the Geeks, double elbows get two. Double team attempt on MVP is thrawted by Dragon, clawhold and STO on Lewis gets the sudden pin! The Geeks can't believe it.

WINNERS and NEW CHAMPS: Morton Von Prose & Black Dragon (2-1 pin, pin) -> 6:30 mins. **½

Flag Match
Jaxson Pride vs. Apocolypse - First one to get the flag wins it. Pride makes an immeadiate charge for the flag, but Apoc clotheslines him down. Apoc with a backbreaker and reverse DDT, thinks about getting the flag now...but leaves it. LOW BLOW Pride, he works the legs, figure four, but Apoc reverses it and escapes. Apoc with a spinebuster, Pride with a jawbreaker, dropkick in the corner and DDT. He goes for the flag, but Apoc BOOTS him, Pride grabs the leg for a takedown and tries for the flag again. Apoc trips him, they fight on the ropes, Apoc pulls the flag off the post, Russian leg sweep off the ropes, but Apoc loses it, Pride picks it up and it's over. WHAT?

WINNER: Jaxson Pride KO -> 8:50 mins. **¾

Apoc got the flag off the stick, thought that was how you won, but you had to have possession and wave it. Pride gets a trash can and a gas tank! He puts the flag in the can, but it tries to escape. Apoc gets up and chokeslams him however, death valley driver on the trash can! A mystery man runs out, Beta Brotha he's called, he spinebusters Apoc! He leaves with Jaxson Pride.

Triple Threat Championship - Finishers Match
(c)CJ Esparza vs. Axis vs. Brett Gakiya - And this match is also up on YouTube. How many times has this Midwest Mob fought each other? Been a feud that never ends and so many matches in the series are on YouTube. I think these three should form an actual faction soon, if they do all this to each other, just think what'd they'll do to others as a unit. The first one to hit his finisher successfully wins the match, though wish I'd had heard WHICH finisher they were gonna try on whomever. CJ tries to ambush them as they lock up but gets double punched and tripped, double stun gunned, double clothesline and he's out on the floor. Brett locks up with Axis, he somehow ends up on his shoulders to moonsault off and onto CJ Esparza. Brett beats on him until Axis goes flying over the top onto them. Axis puts him in and hits a clothesline for a two count. Ummm...if this is a finshers match why's the ref counting? Axis and Brett are in the corner CJ forearms Brett and dropkicks Axis. Brett charges CJ in the corner and gets hung, CJ with the double knees to the back, Axis chains it and its a double lungblower. Axis pounds Brett, CJ drop toe holds Axis and does a shooting star senton. CJ has Brett for a rolling Samoan drop, Axis reverses the whip into the corner, Brett tries a suplex but gets thrown off and dropkicked by Axis. Axis throws CJ out but CJ headscissors Axis out, Axis pulls CJ and Brett kicks him off the ropes for a hard landing on the floor. Brett with a flying knee on Axis, dropsault. CJ back in, catches a foot and flips Brett into a 450 senton on Axis. Brett flips CJ for a moonsault double stomp. Brett tries for the superplex, Axis has him for the rack, CJ double stomps him and Brett is sent flying for the tilt. Brett hits a backbreaker, facebreaker and fisherman suplex on CJ, Axis clotheslines Brett over the top. CJ charges and goes flying back first over the top onto Brett. All three slug it out on the floor. Brett backdrops CJ on the floor, Brett springboard dropkicks Axis, CJ springboard clotheslines Brett. Axis dropkicks CJ down, slams Brett and CJ, goes up, Brett and CJ intercept, pick him up and ram him into the opposite corner. CJ belly to belly suplex into a tree of woe, Axis is thrown into Brett. Brett gets out of the tree and moonsaults onto Axis. CJ backbreaker, facebreaker, STO, goes up, SHOOTING STAR PRESS on Brett...but no count, cause it's not the finisher he chose. Axis kicks him, powerbomb attempt is reversed into a rollup, but no count. Brett is pulled out by pNut, Axis picks up CJ in a powerbomb but flapjacks him down...and the ref calls him the winner.

WINNER and NEW CHAMP: Axis pin -> 14:15 mins. ****

Loser Leaves Town
Tank Roberts vs. Chris Hazard - Hazard brings a sledgehammer to the ring with him! I dunno what the backstory is with this match, but Tank apparently is the bad guy here, though Hazard has been the bad guy for quite a long time. Big brawl to start, Hazard ten punches in the corner but gets dropped on the turnbuckle. Hazard gets a hip toss and slam however and Tank bails. Suplex by Hazard, goes up, Tank slams him off, Tank grabs a hammer, but Hazard SPEARS him...for ONE. Tank gets backdropped outside, toss in, Hazard gets caught in a fallaway slam for one. Tank with a neckbreaker for two. Hazard with a tilt-a-whirl slam, flying elbowdrop gets two. Hazard gets the hammer, Tank grabs him for the gut wrench slam for three!

WINNER: Tank Roberts pin -> 7:55 mins. **¾

Chris Hazard loses and has indicated that he is done with wrestling for now.

First Blood Match
Catalyst Cory Carter vs. Doug Devore - Originally Devore lost a loser leaves town match but as usual that stip didn't last too long. TripC pounds away, LOW BLOW Doug, he grinds the belt buckle into his head and chokes away. TripC with a rake, chops, snap mare, pounds, belt whip. Doug fires back, clothesline, BOOT shot. They brawl back and forth with chokes, LOW BLOWS and whatever else until Chris Brown runs out with a chair, but hits Robbie the Ref! Whoops. New Era runs in after him, Devore DDTs Carter on a chair. Devore rakes TripC, and he's bleeding! Robbie is still down, TripC hits Devore in the face with an iron rod, and now Devore is bleeding! TripC tries to wipe the blood off him, but Robbie gets up and sees it, but also sees Devore bleeding. Robbie is unsure what to do, Devore pounds TripC in the head. Ben Simpson walks down to ringside as they slug it out. Simpson talks to both men, then raises Devore's hand. TripC can't believe it. Quite an interesting brawl, not much a wrestling match.

WINNER: Doug Devore KO -> 9:55 mins. **

NGW Heavyweight Championship - Hardcore Match
(c)Big Pappa vs. Ryan Phoenix - Pappa goes for a powerbomb but Phoenix blocks it and grabs an ankle lock...but they're caught up in the ropes. Pappa with a chop, Ryan with a springboard dropkick, crossbody attempt is caught and Ryan gets shoved down. Pappa with clotheslines, Ryan with a trip and grabs the ankle lock again. Ryan foolishly tries a suplex and gets dumped out. Action spills into my area and I have to run, Ryan gets knocked into the barrier. Ryan gets a low blow, gets a chair, hits him, throws it in the ring, charges, hops off the chair and tackles Pappa on the floor! Back in, Ryan gets two. Phoenix charges and hits a forearm shot! Ryan moonsaults over Pappa, goes after the legs, he gets backed into a corner, Ryan headbutts Pappa, Pappa tweaks his knee, Phoenix gets an ankle lock, Pappa is screaming, Phoenix lets go and throws the ref out of the ring! What's up with that? Who's gonna stop the match? Phoenix tries to suplex Pappa again...and MANAGES TO DO IT! Course there's no ref to count when he covers him, idiot. Ryan goes up, split legged moonsault WHIFFS! Pappa limps in, BLACK HOLE SLAM! Robbie the ref runs out for two. LOW BLOW Ryan, he nails Robbie the ref! Pappa with a choke toss, Pappa goes outside, calls for his finisher, but Ryan grabs the ankle lock again, and he gives it up!

WINNER and NEW CHAMP: Ryan Phoenix submission -> 9:40 mins. **¾

The New Era comes out to celebrate with all the belts they won. They hold Ryan up on their shoulders.

The Verdict: Solid ring work from most everyone, nothing really exceptional, it's been a couple months after the fact, so can't recall much other details apart from the notes so I'll just say...
