After all the hype and expectation the past few months with the Springfield Stallions, the day has finally arrived. Years ago, there was a team called the Springfield Slayers that were supposed to play arena football at the PCCC, but before the opening game was ever held, they VANISHED off the face of the earth, and actually ripped off a few people that bought season tickets without a refund. Springfield, jaded into absolute dullness and urban hermitry either has all its residents stay home after work or else they drive out of town to do anything that resembles fun. Attempts to bring anything fun to town have been met with strong resistance, as the urban hermits won’t let go of their rural lifestyle yet won’t adjust to living in a busy urban environment. Dissatisfaction with the PCCC itself, keeps many events from even running there because it can’t hold five figures of people inside. So finally after much effort and work, it’s game time!
Well, besides just attending the game and wrestling show, I was offered to interview a few of the big name wrestlers, so were the Ringside Chat guys, but as I’ve learned time and time again, the worst time to do interviews of any length is the day of the show. Even though no interviews were gotten, did meet and greet the big name wrestlers throughout the night, and I filmed the wrestling show from the field. Dunno if there will be a video release or what, we’ll see.
The first game was a loss though, as five interceptions contributed to a 47-19 rout by the Xplosion. So much for the 12-0 prediction...

Halloween, Superstar Seth Clash & Kid Italy vs. Nick Brubaker, Whiteboy & Justin Dean - This is the wrestling debut of Brubaker, as he was to have his first match in NMW before this opportunity opened up. Halloween is not the luchadore from Mexico, it's some guy wearing a mask with a long pumpkin stem. The rest of the guys are from Indiana somewhere, EWF out of Marion, IN or elsewhere. Whiteboy starts with Italy, gets the trio and works the arm. Tag Brubaker, Italy with a poke, but Halloween tags in and gets armdragged, tag Dean. Dean goes up and stomps the arm, dropkick gets two. Dean eats an elbow, then a jawbreaker. Tag Clash. He pounds Dean in the corner, but gets crossbodied down. Irish whip and Italy kicks Dean, toss out and Italy and Halloween pound him down, toss in gets two. Calsh with a choke, tag Italy, snap mare...PUNT gets two. Tag Halloween, misses a clothesline and Dean gets a DDT. Italy and Whiteboy tag in, Whiteboy takes out the heels, backdrop on Clash for two, but Italy breaks it up, all six in, ten punch in the corners, four go outside to fight, Italy goes down, Whiteboy to the top, MOONSAULT gets the pin! Spirited little six-man.

D-Lo Brown and Justin "Tyme" Gettys come out, and Hurricane's music plays inadvertently. Gettys thanks everyone for coming to the game tonight, and staying for the wrestling show. D-Lo interrupts however, he has to say something. D-Lo says the real winners tonight was Springfield itself because what was promised five years ago by some other "team" was delivered by the real deal. D-Lo Brown wants to introduce a real Stallions fan, a girl that has it all, Kelly Kelly. She comes out and waves to the crowd then leaves. D-Lo asks do they want some more, the day has just begun, the night is still young...and we're interrupted by Test and Bull Buchanon. D-Lo and Gettys fetch chairs. Test gets a steroids chant directed at him. Test says the only stallion that's here is him. He's the only one with the girls people want to be with. He can't believe he came here to watch a second rate football team lose to Kalamazoo, and lose badly. Test wants to give D-Lo a butt kicking. D-Lo says Test sucks. He wants to do this now, but Gettys bashes him with a chair! Gettys rants about D-Lo trying to be the face of the Stallions, over his dead body! He will lead Test & Bull against D-Lo tonight! D-Lo slowly gets up, he says he'll find a partner and kick their butts!
Justin MacIntyre & Mississippi Madman w/ pNut vs. The Golden Lion & Spyro - I thought Spyro was a play on the little purple dragon or something, but I know nothing about him otherwise, guessing another Indiana guy, along with Lion. The Golden Lion is about as big as Madman! He disrobes, and he's not quite in shape. Madman wants to start with Lion first! Lion slaps him and struts, but gets clotheslined down! Madman slugs him down, ram in the corner, whip, AVALANCHE!!! Only gets two. Madman with a clothesline, but Lion with a LOW BLOW! Tag Spyro. Madman clotheslines him down and tags J-Mac, but Spryo bails, J-Mac after him and throws him back in. Spyro bails again, J-Mac chases, Spyro muscles him down with a sunset and gets two. Spyro with a snap mare for one, J-Mac hits a couple clotheslines, Spyro bails again, J-Mac chases, Spyro charges and runs into an elbow for two. J-Mac drops a couple elbows. Spyro with a trip, spinning neck breaker, gives him to Lion to choke. Spyro with a suplex gets two. Tag Lion, he slugs him down, legdrop, ram in the corner, tag Spyro. Double whip, double elbows, Spyro yells this is my house and drops an elbow for two. Tag Lion, Irish whip but it's a double clothesline. Tag Madman, tag Spyro, and Madman runs over them guys. Madman dumps Lion out, double whip Spyro kicks Madman, Lion pulls J-Mac out, Spyro with a rake, J-Mac gets POSTED! Spyro rollup with the ropes only gets two! Spyro goes up, crossbody from the top gets two! Spyro shoves the ref, dropkicks have no effect on Madman, J-Mac throws Lion into the post, FIFTH FLOOR MADMAN...THREE COUNT!

Voodoo Kin Mafia - Billy Gunn & Jesse James vs. Rosey & Metalhead Steve Stone - Gunn runs the length of the field and collapses. Heh. BG James is wearing a 3LK jersey this evening. Billy grabs my camera...while it was still looped around my neck! Gunn shoots the crowd, but aims at the ground much of the time. Jesse says we have three words for ya tonight, join the stampede! Jesse gives me the finger as a joke. *smirk* I bet J-Mac put him up to it. Rosey isn't getting cheered tonight. Jesse goes out and gets in a three point stance. Gunn goes out and gets the mike. He says they suck, well Rosey doesn't suck but has a partner that sucks. Billy says something to Chris Lee and they get in the ring. Stone and Jesse start. Jesse outwrestles him, Stone with a poke, whip but Jesse slugs him down, kneedrop gets two. Stone whip, Rosey knee, side elbow Stone. Stone wants to tag but Rosey is jawing with the crowd, Stone chokes Jesse on the ropes and gets a tag. Rosey slugs him down, Rosey with a knee to the shoulder, chops in the corner, whip...but Jesse kicks him. Sunset flip is sat on by Rosey for two. Tag Stone, Stone with a headbutt, kick in the corner, Jesse reverses a whip but eats a boot. Stone clothesline, whip across but they crash. Gunn tags in, clobbers Stone, tosses Rosey, FAMEASSER on Stone for the pin! A bit short and wished it were longer.

The participants are: Eric Logan, Tricky Dick Moore, Spencer Powers, Eric Ruffington, Hardcore KC, Nick Brubaker, Halloween, Billy Morgan, Brett Gakiya, Chris Hazard, Whiteboy, Justin Dean, Halloween, and Tank Roberts. SSP says this is his match. Logan and Gakiya do moonsaults on everyone off the bat, SSP goes right after Logan and they slug it out, Dean and Whiteboy clothesline Halloween out first, Dean gets rid of SSP and KC gets thrown out by Whiteboy. SSP and KC gets into a fight outside. Dean tosses Billy Morgan. Tank almost gets rid of Logan but he headscissors him out instead! Gakiya has Whiteboy on the apron, Logan dropkicks him off. Logan splashes Hazard, Brett with a rolling tackle on Hazard. Ruffington dumps Dean. Ruff PILEDRIVER on Tricky Dick! Brett flying headscissors on Hazard, Nick assists on a 630 senton on Hazard! Brubaker tries to dump Brett, but Brett suplexes him out, but Brubaker holds on and pulls him out too! Hazard with a clothesline on Logan and Moore. Ruff charges Logan but goes sailing over the top. Hazard with a double clothesline, Logan crossbody on Hazard, but gets powerbombed! Hazard charges Tricky Dick, but Dick ducks and Hazard flies out! Two left. They slug it out. Tricky KICK WHAM RUDE AWAKENING! Dueling chants for both men. Logan with a block, gut wrench suplex. Logan up, slugs Moore, Moore tries to dump him, but Logan lands on the apron. Logan tackles Moore, goes up, SWANTON! Logan hip tosses Moore out and the NMW Heavywight Champ wins it! Logan does a moonsault for the crowd and exits. Don't usually rate battle royals.

D-Lo Brown w/ Ron Simmons vs. Test & Bull Buchanon w/ Justin Tyme Gettys - Funny thing after the show, I started yelling CRAP every time Ron Simmons yelled DAMN, then several ran with it until Ron himself was even saying it. Gettys says the man isn't D-Lo with the Stallions, D-Lo is all I I I, he has no friends left, Justin's the man, they are gonna end his wrestling career AND his football career. D-Lo hands a can of well, really high vitamin and caffeine drink to a fan. D-Lo brings out his mentor and father figure, Ron Simmons. Alas, Ron ain't dressed to wrestle. CRAP! Test asks if this is washed up wrestler night. Test says we have one guy who says only one word, D-Lo chant erupts. Test says Ron only says DUH, and he has Bull start, Test doesn't like the steroid chants. Of course the fans bug him with that. D-Lo asks Test if he DOES take steroids and gets a chant going. Match starts, Bull with a shoulderblock, but D-Lo with a hip toss. Bull goes after the arm, slugs D-Lo that something flies out of his mouth, whip but D-Lo gets a dropkick. And Bull bails out, conference with Test, ref complains about the stalling, D-Lo goes out and knocks their heads together. D-Lo slugs Bull down on the field, puts him back in the ring, Bull begs off, wants to shake hands...but tries to kick D-Lo and D-Lo trips him, clothesline. Bull with a rake, tags Test. Test ram in the corner and beats him down, Gettys with a choke but Ron runs him off. The ref keeps ushering Ron to one corner. Why? Brown slugs test, but Bull jumps in and Test with a LOW BLOW! Test with an armbar, Gettys yells at Brown to quit, Brown up, but eats an elbow. Tag Bull, he slugs away to the gut, Gettys hits D-Lo in the head with the tennis racket! Bull gets two. Tag Test, slam, he goes up, forgets what he was gonna do cause he eats D-Lo's boots! Brown up, runs over Test, Test eats a boot, D-Lo moonsault MISSED...cover gets two! Test charges D-Lo but hits the post. Bull in, tinkerbell chant? Bull throws Brown into the ref, Brown spinebuster on Bull, Gettys in the ring and blasts Brown with the racket, no effect! Brown slugs Gettys down and throws him outside. Simmons takes off the coat, Gettys feels behind him, turns around and gets slugged, toss in, Brown goes up, frogsplash on Gettys, the ref counts the cover. Ref forgot who was in the match I guess.
WINNER: D-Lo Brown pin -> 12:05 mins. **
Way heavy on psychology over wrestling. Brown gets the mike, Ron says DAMN! Brown thanks the fans for supporting the Stallions and coming out. Brown stops and gets back in the ring to talk to Gettys. Brown wants him to get up, there's two ways to handle it, easy or hard. Brown says he took a shortcut, if he does it again he'll thrown him off the third level of the building. Brown says he's watching him, he wants this thing to work, shake hands like a man. Gettys shakes and they hug. D-Lo thanks Springfield and good night. They get the high vitamin drinks and toast. And we’re out.
End result, nothing stood out and nothing sucked. Having some big names in town spiced up the card, and the local wrestlers got a chance to wrestle in front of a bigger crowd in the PCCC. We'll see how the Stallions do the rest of the season.
