Couldn't wait for the weekend as there were a pair of wrestling events going on. Hit the road after work, giving the senior referee a ride to the venue. However, I wish I had a more comfortable chair to sit as those chairs were just murder.
Show opens with Chris Lee introducing Faith of the Children's Miracle Network. GAW was out at Wal-Mart a few weeks ago and raised $1000 and recognizes everyone that was out there. They play the national anthem. Running solo at the commentators table is Chris Lee. I'm still looking for a new commentary gig while NMW is still held hostage by the Pottymouths.
Coming out, the Elements of Power...with only Ben Taylor, JC Michaels and Richard Biggs. Taylor says the referee for tonight will be Colin McDowe. JC Michaels says hes gonna defend his title twice tonight and calls for his opponent to come out. "Never Scared" plays but instead of the Nevada Madman it's the Mississippi Madman! JC Michaels acts like he didn't know he was here. MS Madman yells he wants to know who's idea was it to make fun of him. JC blames Biggs. Oh nice. Madman wants Biggs, but JC says he already has a match against Hardcore KC and JC claims KC has been talking smack about his mom. Madman says after he beats KC he's gonna murder Biggs. JC invites Madman to join him at the buffet table.
We are to the second round of the Freedom Tourney, but due to two guys not here for whatever reason all the brackets are flipped around again. You might as well forget the first round ever happened and we're starting over with an eight-man tourney.
GAW Tag Champ George III (1-0) The Playground, Weight Unknown w/ George Jr. vs. Richard Biggs III (1-2) 280lbs. Upper East Side - Battle of the thirds. Lockup, shove George but no one gets an advantage. Takedown by George gets two. Stallfest, Biggs with an armbar. George bites outta the headlock. George with a slam, Biggs with a kick, whip Biggs slams George but almost drops him wrong. Shoulderblocks Biggs, whip clothesline in the corner. George reverses the whip to the corner, hits a splash, hip toss, headbutt, whip to the corner, weak chops. Ricky tries to break it up but George decides to claw the ref. Hip toss Biggs, side slam. George slugs away, hits his own side slam for two. And Johnathan Scott has come out here, on crutches. George Jr. mocks him, ref gets distracted by Biggs for Scott to BLAST George 3rd with the crutch, LOW BLOW Biggs, small package, it's over. Worthless.

SSP says there's been a lack of talent in GAW the past four months cause he hasn't been here. He came as a spectator only to have Jaxson Pride getting in his face to start crap. He paid the price though, he was put in the ab stretch and tapped out. Someones music starts playing, its Joe Cain. Cain says he's running his mouth about someone who's not here and challenges him to a match cause his light is gonna burn out. And we're told this is a tourney match.
Spotlight Spencer Powers (2-2-1) 170lbs. Miami, FL w/ Cherry Malone vs. Joe Cain (3-5) 120lbs. Orlando, FL - Well Cain was supposed to wrestler Prime Time Playa here as a second round match but as I said earlier, the absence of a couple people have messed up the tourney brackets, so you might as well forget round one EVER happened and we are starting over with an 8-man tourney. Some in the crowd are calling SSP Barney Jennetty. Joe hits a hip toss, drop kick and SSP bails out. Joe goes to the top rope and hits a suicide senton on SSP to the unpadded floor! Yowch! SSP wonders why the floor isn't padded. Joe tosses him in for two. Whip flying headscissors by Joe, suplex gets two. Joe chops away, SSP reverses a whip and gets the clothesline. He chops away, butterfly suplex, northern lights gets two. Choke SSP on the rope, Cherry joins in, Irish whip Joe tries to hop on SSP but gets powerbombed for two. SSP with the knee shots, gut buster, pair of backbreakers, leg scissors SSP. Joe tries to get out, SSP keeps it up, pulls down a pad but misses a kneedrop. Joe with a wheelbarrow stunner gets two. Neckbreaker attempt is blocked, powerslam SSP, and he goes to the ab stretch. The ref, Colin McDowe does not check the arm, Cain appears to be out of commission. Jaxson Pride comes out, SSP stares at him and drops Cain, Joe wakes up and schoolboys him for the win!

What the...? Ben Taylor is gonna be wondering why he counted the fall like that. Quick match, wished it were longer but SSP has a very grueling match the next day. SSP throws a big fit in the ring. Pride said he promised Cain would win the tourney and mocks SSP.
Plowboy Petey Clark (3-1) 180lbs. Clark Family Farm w/ Jessie Clark vs. Prime Time Playa (1-2) 190lbs. San Francisco, CA w/ Ms. Black & Smooth GQ - Like I said earlier, the tourney brackets were swapped around so you might as well forget round one ever happened as Pete's original opponent was supposed to be Shamus McNelson. Faith runs her hands on PTP's trunks. Armbar PTP, reverse by Pete. Hammerlock Petey, PTP fires some weak chops, Petey fires back with big chops to knock him down. Pete whip clothesline and PTP bails. PTP gets a rake back in, shoulderblocks, splash off the second gets ONE. PTP with a side elbow for two. Rear chinlock PTP, Pete gets out, clothesline, second rope clothesline gets two. Pete whip attempt is blocked, spinning flapjack PTP, GQ attacks Petey as the ref is tied up. PTP with a choke, running sitdown on Pete, elbow gets one. PTP goes for the fameasser...but MISSED! Pete with a front DDT pins him.

Truk Thompson (3-2-1) 295lbs. Mechanicsburg, IL vs. George "The Animal" Jr. (0-1) Weight Unknown, The Playground - Truk has good news and bad news. The bad news is Gavin ain't here, the good news is Gavin ain't here. Truk says he heard Gavin got hurt, dunno how. So Truk introduces his new opponent for tonight, saying he's one of the greatest wrestlers ever, George Jr. The Animals stare at Tru Talent as they go to the ring. Well they shake in the ring, they lockup and exchange armbars, headlock, shoveoff clothesline Junior. Clothesline by Truk, turnbuckle ram has no effect, Junior hits the headbutts, boot wipe gets two. At some point Junior headbutted the ref in the back of the head, and had a nice sized lump after the show. Thanks a lot...Junior! Truk grabs an ankle and works the leg, turning it into a half crab. Junior counters with an ankle lock. Junior chops away, whip to the corner, splash misses, Truk covers for two. And for no reason whatsoever Ms. Black steps out here, Truk points her out to the the Animals, who stop and stare, rollup Truk gets the win. Eh?

Tru Talent mocks the Animals for losing twice tonight. And the Animals want the mike. Junior says if he has to lose to anybody, losing to Truk is okay. The Animals have business to take care off as tag champ, what John Scott will never be. The Animals have to select the next tag team they face. They think Hot Commodity...nay. Irish Revolution...nay. Gentlemens Club...nay. They can't face themselves, so they suggest Jaxson Pride & Joe Cain to face them. They accept. And we conclude the second round.

Apriq Laveq (4-6-1) 225lbs. France & "The Wrangler" Eric Ruffington (0-1) 215lbs. Bonkers, TX vs. Gentlemen's Club (1-2) 380lbs combined San Franciso, CA - Smooth GQ (0-1) & Prime Time Playa (1-3) w/ Ms. Black vs. Jessie Clark (0-1) 200lbs. The Clark Farm & Tricky Dick Moore (1-0) 170lbs. Beaverdale, PA - Well this came outta nowhere. And isn't it interesting the Gentlemen's Club remained intact with the drawing. Even more interesting is PTP's EZ Money partner is on an opposing team, and I had no idea he was gonna be here. A cowboy and vamp hunter make up one team, and a farmer and pimp make up another team...lethal lottery it sure is. As Ricky the ref checks over PTP, he slaps him on the rear HARD. Ruff and PTP start. Lockup, Ruff slaps the rear of PTP HARD as payback. Headlock PTP, shoulderblock Ruff, armdrag. Trip and legdrop PTP for two. Whip to the corner, GQ chokes Ruff, false tag, GQ hits a suplex for two. Armwringer, kick, spin splash GQ gets two. Apriq tags himself in on Ruff's back, whip clothesline GQ on Ruff. Apriq clotheslines GQ, nails PTP, knocks Jessie and Tricky off. Apriq suplex is blocked, neckbreaker GQ, GQ dumps Apriq out and hits a dropkick. GQ with an ugly spinning neckbreaker off the ropes. Yowch. GQ whip forearm shot, tags Moore who covers for two. Tricky whip sideslam, cover is broken up by PTP. Hmmm...interesting. Suplex Moore gets two. Tricky with a spinning powerbomb gets two, PTP breaks it up. Moore whip clothesline in the corner, tag Ruff. Clothesline Ruff on GQ, whip reverse death valley driver gets two as PTP makes the save. Ruff with a standing suplex gets two. Tag Apriq, slam, knee gets two. Apriq pounds away, tag Ruff. Whip shoulderblock Tricky, tags Jessie in. Slam Jess, elbow gets two on Ruff. Whip shoulderblock Ruff, tag Apriq, backbreaker stretch. GQ tags himself in off Jessie, whip clothesline on Apriq, legdrop gets two. Whip reverse flying headscissors by GQ, which Chris Lee once again called a hurraconranna and I finally corrected him very loudly. Drop kick GQ, tag PTP, whip spinebuster PTP gets two off a ONE FOOT COVER. PTP drop kicks Ruff to the floor and he almost hits face first on the top of a short pole, yikes. Apriq snapmare, rear chinlock. PTP hits a crossbody off the top for 2 7/8! PTP is mad, tag GQ, tag Ruff. Ruff whip side elbow, German suplex. PTP with a kick to the back, GQ whip reverse tilt a whirl side slam Ruff. Tag PTP and Jessie. They brawl, hip toss Jess, PTP back in, slams on the gents, noggin knock, PTP flops down into the groin of GQ. Tricky jumps in, RUDE AWAKENING on his own partner! I knew that was gonna happen.

And Tricky Dick hooks back up with his EZ Money partner as the third member of the Gentlemens Club and they're all kicking Jessie. All that's missing is Jackie Sazerak. Petey Clark runs in with a chair to get them off. Ruffington and Laveq are brawling on the other side of the ring. PTP does a slam dunk with some object with the basketball hoop. Ruff throws something at John Scott on his way out. All right, it's time for round three of the tournament.

Biggs with a clothesline, hip toss, Biggs with a slam. Truk with a clothesline, hip toss, slam. Truk whip to the corner, shoulderblock, and the crowd counts the ten punches. Running stunner by Truk gets two. Biggs with a poke, whip clothesline, BIG SPLASH gets two. Whip clothesline misses, clothesline Truk. Whip spinebuster Truk gets two. Biggs is up, DDT, he goes to the top and hits a clothesline. Truk rages, he slugs away, SPEAR gets two! Biggs in the corner, Truk goes for the spear again but hits the post! Rollup Biggs gets three. Upset city.

Mississippi Madman (3-3-1) 375lbs. Olive Branch, MS vs. Hardcore KC (4-1-1) 170lbs. Kansas City, MO - I fire off the "Who's House? My House!" chant so the locals can get in on the fun. Well this is a classic rivalry. Madman attacks first, whip KC hits a clothesline, dropkick, hits a pair of splashes, kicks in the corner and counts 10 punches. Madman though gorilla presses KC, double punch and a club down by Madman. Elbowdrop misses, KC hits the elbows for two and Madman THROWS him off. Madman goes for a suplex, KC tries in vain to block it but hits lifted up, held there a long while then dropped. Madman shouts Biggs is next! Madman with a choke, whip KC hops over a Madman charge, hits a jump kick. Madman is up though and hits a kick to the back and clamps on a nerve hold. KC is out at one, Madman sets him up for the Vader bomb but KC moves! KC with a spinning heel kick, clothesline has no effect, flying forearm shot gets two, but Madman nearly throws him out of the ring kicking out! Madman with a heel kick, oh here's Richard Biggs out here with a chair...BAM! It's over.

Biggs pounds Madman with a chair, KC surveys the situation then steps in to run Biggs off. JC Michaels is out here now, he says don't let Biggs do that to him then invites him to the buffet table. JC calls KC a loser, I call him a loser, JC tells me I'm just doing my job I don't come to your house and knock on your closet asking you to come out. Gee, EVERY time they go to the same old tired gay jokes that don't apply to me.
Multiple Stips Tag Match
Jaxson Pride 215lbs. Freedom, PA & Sammy Da Bull 285lbs. Decatur, IL vs. "Mr. Everything's Just Crap" Michaels 305lbs. Hollywood, CA & Ben Taylor 220lbs. Las Vegas, NV - There's a lot of stips on this match that depend on who pins who, but half the possiblities are not covered. So it runs like this, if JC pins Pride he's gone. If Taylor pins Sammy he gets the radio show. If Pride pins JC he gets the title. If Sammy pins Taylor he gets the fed. There's four other possible outcomes, so I asked if Pride pinned Taylor would he get the fed, or Sammy pinned JC would he get the belt, or Taylor pinned Pride would he still be gone, or if JC pinned Sammy would he get the radio show? JC Michaels got all pissy at me for asking. That probably means he's gonna try to pull another fast one. Colin McDowe comes out with a stupid sign saying I fear him. Sammy starts the match with JC, the fans chant and he decides to stall, going so far as to make an announcement on the PA system to be quiet. Sammy locks him up to the corner and JC wants to stall some more. JC with a rake, choke on the ropes and we have an illegal switch. Taylor works the leg, but Sammy with a floatover headlock. Tag Pride, tag JC. Armbar JC, takedown elbow gets two. Pride pounds away, LOW BLOW JC. Tag Taylor, ramming with the boot gets two. Taylor works Pride's leg, Pride hammerlocks the arm, Taylor with a rollup gets two. Remember why I asked those questions earlier? Pride chops away, pulls Taylor's shirt up and chops him HARD! Whip drop toe hold Pride, Taylor elbows out, whip clothesline Taylor gets ONE. Ben goes back to the leg, tags JC and they make a wish! Sharpshooter attempt blocked, Pride gets a half crab, Colin pulls the rope for JC to reach. Uh thanks. Enzuigiri Pride on JC gets one. JC whip he swats away a Pride dropkick, drops the elbow for two. JC with the million dollar dream, then turns it into a neckbreaker for two. JC off the ropes, splash MISSED! Pride tries some sort of facebuster that looks way messed up. BTW, Pride & JC are the legal men at this point, as Spencer Powers & Cherry Malone have come out. Taylor tags in. Double whip by the bad guys, Sammy jumps in the ring, Shattered Pride on JC, Sammy did something to Taylor and the ref counts a double pin.
WINNERS: Jaxson Pride & Sammy Da Bull pin -> (1-0) 10 mins. *¾
Well I thought it was a double pin. Ricky the ref goes to the ring as McDowe hands Pride the title belt. Ricky takes it away though, and raises the hand of Sammy Da Bull. Ricky is given the mike and says he's senior referee, he says Sammy and Taylor were the legal men and Sammy is now majority owner of GAW. Taylor freaks. Pride concedes he may not had won the title this month, so he wants JC again, not right away, but in July. Since Sammy is now majority owner, he can make it happen. Spencer Powers is now on the apron! Pride chases after SSP with a baseball bat! I dunno how anyone could tell who were the legal men, but the most desirable outcome occurred. ANYONE is better than Taylor as I'm sick of crooked fed owners in general. Match could had been a lot worse with two non-wrestlers in there, but Sammy kept his involvement limited.
Freedom Cup Tournament Final
Joe Cain (5-5) 120lbs. Orlando, FL vs. Richard Biggs III (3-2) 280lbs. Upper East Side - Ummm...MISMATCH! Who would had thought this was gonna be the tourney finale? I sure didn't. Remarkably Joe fought all cruisers until now. Sign: Biggs: Junk Bond. Biggs says he beat three guys, calls Cain one of Willy Wonka's boys and will make an example outta him. Biggs shoves Cain around, slam, hip toss. Cain is up, armdrags the much bigger man, hits a clothesline. Biggs with a powerslam, whip elbow, clothesline in the corner. Cain hits a clothesline, kicks the leg, and drops him with a DDT for two. Cain with a headscissors into a rollup gets two. STYLES CLASH Biggs gets two! Jaxson Pride is now out there, neckbreaker Joe gets two. Sammy is out here with the trophy and tells Tru Talent to get to the back. Biggs with some sort of flip slam, BIG SPLASH gets two! Biggs with a whip, Joe with a wheelbarrow...into a STUNNER for two! Well they call it RKJoe. LOW BLOW by Biggs! Side suplex gets two! Side kick by Joe, he locks in a crossarm breaker, Biggs lifts him straight up with the hold and drops him! Reverse DDT by Biggs, he is climbing the ropes (but the commentary gives him away)! Joe is up, trips Biggs, and hits a neckbreaker from the top rope for the win!
WINNER: Joe Cain pin -> (6-5) 8:10 mins. **½
Joe Cain is your 2005 Freedom Cup Tournament Champion! Petey Clark and Eric Ruffington throw Biggs back in the ring as he tries to leave. Sammy presents the trophy to Joe, Jaxson Pride hits Shattered Pride on Biggs. Ruffington pulls out some electric clippers! Someone else is trying to plug in an extension cord, what are they gonna do to him? They all are shaving Biggs bald! Two fans gripe at Sammy over the deal, he says it's all fun, the times have changed. Gee, Gavin Alexander and Billy Reno ain't anywhere around to help Biggs. Even Madman comes out to chase Biggs off after he's dumped outta the ring and finds half his hair gone.
The Verdict: Ten match show, the stand out matches being the lethal lottery tag and SSP vs. Cain. Nothing to recommend otherwise with the only real clunker being the opener. The show wasn't bad so no one should hold their heads down as it kept me into it most of the night. We'll go...

At some point Junior headbutted the ref in the back of the head, and had a nice sized lump after the show. Thanks a lot...Junior! Truk grabs an ankle and works the leg, turning it into a half crab. Even more interesting is PTP's EZ Money partner is on an opposing team, and I had no idea he was gonna be here. A cowboy and vamp hunter make up one team, and a farmer and pimp make up another team...lethal lottery it sure is. As Ricky the ref checks over PTP, he slaps him on the rear HARD. Ruff and PTP start. Lockup, Ruff slaps the rear of PTP HARD as payback. Headlock PTP, shoulderblock Ruff, armdrag. Trip and legdrop PTP for two. Whip to the corner, GQ chokes Ruff, false tag, GQ hits a suplex for two. They brawl, hip toss Jess, PTP back in, slams on the gents, noggin knock, PTP flops down into the groin of GQ. Tricky jumps in, RUDE AWAKENING on his own partner! I knew that was gonna happen.

Well this is a classic rivalry. Madman attacks first, whip KC hits a clothesline, dropkick, hits a pair of splashes, kicks in the corner and counts 10 punches. Madman though gorilla presses KC, double punch and a club down by Madman. Elbowdrop misses, KC hits the elbows for two and Madman THROWS him off. Madman goes for a suplex, KC tries in vain to block it but hits lifted up, held there a long while then dropped. Madman shouts Biggs is next! Madman with a choke, whip KC hops over a Madman charge, hits a jump kick. Madman is up though and hits a kick to the back and clamps on a nerve hold. KC is out at one, Madman sets him up for the Vader bomb but KC moves! KC with a spinning heel kick, clothesline has no effect, flying forearm shot gets two, but Madman nearly throws him out of the ring kicking out! Madman with a heel kick, oh here's Richard Biggs out here with a chair...BAM! It's over.

Gee, EVERY time they go to the same old tired gay jokes that don't apply to me.

Las Vegas, NV - There's a lot of stips on this match that depend on who pins who, but half the possiblities are not covered. So it runs like this, if JC pins Pride he's gone. If Taylor pins Sammy he gets the radio show. If Pride pins JC he gets the title. If Sammy pins Taylor he gets the fed. There's four other possible outcomes, so I asked if Pride pinned Taylor would he get the fed, or Sammy pinned JC would he get the belt, or Taylor pinned Pride would he still be gone, or if JC pinned Sammy would he get the radio show? JC Michaels got all pissy at me for asking. That probably means he's gonna try to pull another fast one. Colin McDowe comes out with a stupid sign saying I fear him. Sammy starts the match with JC, the fans chant and he decides to stall, going so far as to make an announcement on the PA system to be quiet. Sammy locks him up to the corner and JC wants to stall some more. JC with a rake, choke on the ropes and we have an illegal switch. Taylor works the leg, but Sammy with a floatover headlock. Tag Pride, tag JC. Armbar JC, takedown elbow gets two. Pride pounds away, LOW BLOW JC. Tag Taylor, ramming with the boot gets two. Taylor works Pride's leg, Pride hammerlocks the arm, Taylor with a rollup gets two. Remember why I asked those questions earlier? Pride chops away, pulls Taylor's shirt up and chops him HARD! Whip drop toe hold Pride, Taylor elbows out, whip clothesline Taylor gets ONE. Ben goes back to the leg, tags JC and they make a wish! Sharpshooter attempt blocked, Pride gets a half crab, Colin pulls the rope for JC to reach. Uh thanks. Enzuigiri Pride on JC gets one. JC whip he swats away a Pride dropkick, drops the elbow for two. JC with the million dollar dream, then turns it into a neckbreaker for two. JC off the ropes, splash MISSED! Pride tries some sort of facebuster that looks way messed up. BTW, Pride & JC are the legal men at this point, as Spencer Powers & Cherry Malone have come out. Taylor tags in. Double whip by the bad guys, Sammy jumps in the ring, Shattered Pride on JC, Sammy did something to Taylor and the ref counts a double pin.

Well I thought it was a double pin. Ricky the ref goes to the ring as McDowe hands Pride the title belt. Ricky takes it away though, and raises the hand of Sammy Da Bull. Ricky is given the mike and says he's senior referee, he says Sammy and Taylor were the legal men and Sammy is now majority owner of GAW. Taylor freaks. Pride concedes he may not had won the title this month, so he wants JC again, not right away, but in July. Since Sammy is now majority owner, he can make it happen. Spencer Powers is now on the apron! Pride chases after SSP with a baseball bat! I dunno how anyone could tell who were the legal men, but the most desirable outcome occurred. ANYONE is better than Taylor as I'm sick of crooked fed owners in general. Match could had been a lot worse with two non-wrestlers in there, but Sammy kept his involvement limited.

Joe Cain (5-5) 120lbs. Orlando, FL vs. Richard Biggs III (3-2) 280lbs. Upper East Side - Ummm...MISMATCH! Who would had thought this was gonna be the tourney finale? I sure didn't. Remarkably Joe fought all cruisers until now. Sign: Biggs: Junk Bond. Biggs says he beat three guys, calls Cain one of Willy Wonka's boys and will make an example outta him. Biggs shoves Cain around, slam, hip toss. Cain is up, armdrags the much bigger man, hits a clothesline. Biggs with a powerslam, whip elbow, clothesline in the corner. Cain hits a clothesline, kicks the leg, and drops him with a DDT for two. Cain with a headscissors into a rollup gets two. STYLES CLASH Biggs gets two! Jaxson Pride is now out there, neckbreaker Joe gets two. Sammy is out here with the trophy and tells Tru Talent to get to the back. Biggs with some sort of flip slam, BIG SPLASH gets two! Biggs with a whip, Joe with a wheelbarrow...into a STUNNER for two! Well they call it RKJoe. LOW BLOW by Biggs! Side suplex gets two! Side kick by Joe, he locks in a crossarm breaker, Biggs lifts him straight up with the hold and drops him! Reverse DDT by Biggs, he is climbing the ropes (but the commentary gives him away)! Joe is up, trips Biggs, and hits a neckbreaker from the top rope for the win!

Joe Cain is your 2005 Freedom Cup Tournament Champion! Petey Clark and Eric Ruffington throw Biggs back in the ring as he tries to leave. Sammy presents the trophy to Joe, Jaxson Pride hits Shattered Pride on Biggs. Ruffington pulls out some electric clippers! Someone else is trying to plug in an extension cord, what are they gonna do to him? They all are shaving Biggs bald! Two fans gripe at Sammy over the deal, he says it's all fun, the times have changed. Gee, Gavin Alexander and Billy Reno ain't anywhere around to help Biggs. Even Madman comes out to chase Biggs off after he's dumped outta the ring and finds half his hair gone.
The Verdict: Ten match show, the stand out matches being the lethal lottery tag and SSP vs. Cain. Nothing to recommend otherwise with the only real clunker being the opener. The show wasn't bad so no one should hold their heads down as it kept me into it most of the night. We'll go...
