They been telling me not to attend...
My views are solely my own and do not reflect the views of any wrestling organization. So don't complain to ANYONE except me! I got this review done quick, cause this show wasn't very long. I'm quite behind on reviews however.
So why did I attend this show tonight? Well I didn't want to stay home and do housework. Plus it's hot outside. And I've been wanting to see how things were going in this new facility. So I get to the place and look it over. My observations are these, the place is small. They say they can cram 150 in there but it looks like a tight fit if they tried. Ceiling seems to be barely high enough for top rope moves, but I saw later that it could be used in quite interesting ways. The canvas needs to be replaced badly. The middle of it had a LOT of duct tape on it, and some was coming off. I wondered how it got in that condition, cause it didn't look like that back in October, and can't imagine what they did to it in the last few months of shows.
Live from 2715 S. 11th, your commentator and ring announcer is Jay Rod. Apparently he's relatively new at commentary, which is over the PA system. Attendance was about 50. Unfortunately I'm not that familiar with the newer talent, so if I get the names wrong, don't blame me.
Edward Zimmerman Money comes out to lead off. EZM says he proved the AWF is superior to 3CW. He says he's got something new he wants to try, he's gonna challenge anyone in the back to beat him in a match for one million dollars. If he's got a million bucks why doesn't he pay to replace the canvas? Someone answers it, Bill Littleton?
Edward Zimmerman Money vs. Phil Littleton - EZM pounds away, whip to the corner, clothesline, choke, slam. Littleton with a slap, but EZM with a strangehold sleeper, KO, goodbye! Squash.
WINNER: Edward Zimmerman Money KO -> 1:40 mins. DUD
EZM joins Jay Rod on commentary. EZM says Don Taylor ain't here tonight, took the night off.
Nemesis vs. Psydelic - Nemesis pounds on this guy, fetches and chair and slams him on it. He pushes him out, and they call it an elimination. The next person comes out, it's a girl under a hood, The Black Widow. Nemesis doesn't want to fight a girl, but she LOW BLOWS him. Nemesis spinebusters her and pushes her out. The next person comes out, it's Flashback Kid?? Nemesis chokeslams him and pushes him out. Now Phil Roberts comes out, and hits him with a STUFFED ANIMAL. Buh? Nemesis gives him a tigerbomb. But the other three jump in and kick him down, and a man in a hockey mask comes out, it's Kandi Kane who runs them all off, but chokeslams Phil. Was this even a match at all? I'm gonna say not.
NO WINNER: No contest -> 4 mins. approx. DUD
Triple Threat Match
Jaxson Pride vs. Apriq Laveq vs. Vampyr Kaval - Well Pride has a damaged foot, a fracture in it, but he's been allowed to compete here tonight. Jay Rod has trouble announcing the names. Kaval and Apriq...are on friendly terms? The vampire and the vampire hunter together on friendly terms? When'd that happen? They gang up on Pride and I'm in a state of angle clash right now. Double whip, Pride hits a double clothesline of sorts. They go outside, and Pride goes up, man if he's gonna try what I think he's gonna try he shouldn't be doing this. He dives and tackles them two guys on the floor. Kaval with a springboard blockbuster on Pride off Apriq's headlock. Kaval jumping clothesline on Pride, legdrop gets two. Kaval splash in the corner, Apriq in, Kaval with a dropkick flip on Pride in the corner, and Apriq dumps Kaval out. Oh I thought that wasn't gonna last, Apriq gets two and Kaval takes a seat. Apriq chains the suplexes, two of them, goes for a third but it's blocked. Apriq whip clothesline, choke on the mat. Apriq whip, Pride wheelbarrow, Kaval in with a neckbreaker! Kneedrop to the face by Kaval, Apriq with one. Reverse facelock by Apriq, Kaval nails Apriq, hits a brainbuster. Pride dumps Kaval, whip spinebuster gets two on Apriq, Kaval hit a springboard moonsault to break it up. Kaval hits the wooden stake, behind the back piledriver. Apriq goes up, Kaval intercepts, then Pride intercepts, victory roll by Kaval, Apriq dropkick to break it up. That's gotta here. Pride and Apriq slug away, Pride chops, puts Kaval on the apron, Pride follows to fight it out, Apriq goes to nail them both but gets flipped over the top and he hits his neck on the rope after the revolution before hitting the floor. Yeek. Pride does a springboard gullotine legdrop on Kaval...and that looked dangerous. Pride has a fracture in the foot? Pride gets two, but Apriq pulls him off. Apriq with the Last Rites, Kaval has Apriq and hits the "Nail in the Coffin" for two, similar to that piledriver, but he's dropped along the side of his body instead of between the legs. It's broken up, Apriq gets dumped out, and he lands hard. Pride hits his new Stars & Stripes Driver, a fireman's carry into a piledriver...and that HAD to hurt. It gets the pin.
WINNER: Jaxson Pride pin -> 9:50 mins. **½
Execution seemed off at times, and Pride seemed to be doing more than he should on a bad wheel.
Ace Dorrity comes out, he's got that John Cena look. He says he has a gift for Gavin Alexander since he's been in the hospital again, and leaves the ring and heads upstairs. Gavin comes out, opens it and freaks out over the toy title belt, then rips it up. Gavin goes way over his limit cursing in the ring, then screams at me saying I wasn't asked to be here and would beat the crap outta me if he wasn't injured. He says he's gonna end the life of Ace Dorrity soon. I hope that doesn't involve a trash can.
Shamus McNelson w/ Pat Mugroin vs. Dickie Williams - Dickie hits the clothesline and they go out to fight on the floor, Dickie tosses Shamus into the post. But he quickly gets the upper hand and throws him into the post. Back in they slug it out, ref gets distracted and Dickie throws a LOW BLOW and tells the ref he did it to him. Ah cute. Knee LOW BLOW, and Dickie yanks the nubs. Yowch. Whip splash, bulldog gets two. Dickie does an ankle lock but gets overpowered. Choke on the rope, Mugroin chokes and caneshots him. Suplex Shamus, he TRIES to slam him, but does it badly, legdrop gets two. Headbutt Shamus, headbutt LOW BLOW. Dickie up right away however and does the wedgies. Hmm hmm. Clothesline, elbow gets two. Shamus barely picks up Dickie for a sloppy slam, which Williams rolls him up for three. Sloppy, basic stuff here.
WINNER: Dickie Williams pin -> 7:20 mins. ¾*
Shamus being a sore loser, hits a LOW BLOW, DDT. Fetches a chair and chokeslams him into the chair! He goes up, second rope SPLASH! And Williams is spitting blood.
Mickey McNelson vs. "The Iron Chef" Leo Lagossi - Sign: The Chef FEARS RON. They trade armbars, Mickey with a headlock, Chef torques the arm up. Rear chinlock Mick, side elbow. Chef with a drop toe hold, Mick with a rake, slam, suplex gets two. Rear headlock Mick, but Chef sends him outside, but Mick with a neck snap on the top rope. Mick goes up, but gets slammed off, Chef with an ugly back body drop. Belly to belly slam Chef. German suplex, Mugroin breaks the cover using the cane. The ref almost ejects him right there. Chef tries for a superplex, but something happens, and ugh, I thought Mick was gonna be dropped head first, Chef grabs his leg. I dunno what happened. Ref gets to eight, they're up, Mugroin distracts Chef, Mick LOW BLOW, rollup, ropes pin. Sigh. Why am I supposed to gloss this over and think it's good wrestling again?
WINNER: Mickey McNelson -> 9:15 mins. ½*
3CW National Championship
(c)Ace Dorrity vs. Billy Reno w/ Anonymous Girl - I dunno why but the WCW US title gets used by a lot of groups. Gavin comes out to watch. They trade armbars, Reno pounds away, whip clothesline Reno. Reno goes to the second, flying clothesline gets two. Reno gets handed a black rod by an unidentifed lady, who chooses to remain anonymous for now. Reno uses it on Ace repeatedly, and the ref never finds it. Reno misses a crossbody, Ace with a clothesline, legdrop gets two. Ace with a suplex, armwringer...emulates Undertaker by going to the top rope with it, Reno tries to do something but gets kicked down. Gavin pulls Reno out as Ace does a pull-up with a CEILING BEAM, drops down, bounces off the rope in a dangerous manuver to do some sort of splash but gets nothing. Gavin's in the ring and pounds on him, drawing the DQ.
WINNER: Ace Dorrity DQ -> 6:30 mins. *¼
Gavin then proceeds to attack Reno and walk off with the title belt. Reno shouts it doesn't matter who's wearing the belt, Ace or Gavin, it will be his. I can't believe Ace did that move off the ceiling.
The Juggalo Riders come out. Jokaz has a crazy looking joker hat with red lights blinking all around it. Jokaz says Hachet Warrior can do this by himself he don't need him. Hachet Warrior asks if he's backing out. They end up accepting the match.
Handicap Match
Kandi Kane vs. The Juggalo Riders - Jokaz & Hachet Warrior - Kandi comes out to Kane's music. The Juggalos with a double whip, Kane with a double clothesline. Kandi clothesline over the top, Jokaz goes after Kandi, cartwheel backsplash. Jokaz with a Juvi Driver gets one. It appears to me, this guy WAS Kandi Deluxe, who supposedly retired a few months ago. But somehow he acquired a demonic hockey mask and morphed into Kandi Kane. Dunno how it came about however. Concept straight from the Splatterhouse video game series. Jokaz with a fireman's carry, spin into a STUNNER! Commentators think Jokaz took the blow however. Hachet Warrior in to work Kandi over on the floor but he posts Hachet, pulls Jokaz off the apron and knocks their heads together. Ref gets to eight but they get back in. Kandi drops an elbow but missed! Jokaz with a 619 gets two. Jokaz tries a move but knocks out the ref executing it. Oops, Kandi with a chokeslam on Jokaz! Ed Zimmerman Money jumps in the ring, and grabs the tennis racket that was STILL in the corner? He nails Kandi with it, puts Hachet on top, ref is revived and he counts it.
WINNERS: The Juggalo Riders pin -> 10 mins. **¼
That was the main event by the way. They kick away on Kandi, Phil Roberts comes out to join in on it. Now Nemesis comes out with a chair, Phil apparently missed hearing that, and gets nailed. Nemesis sets up a chair, and drops Phil face first into it. Nemesis wants Kandi Kane as his partner versus Phil and Edward Money in a tag match. And the show is over...already?
Okay, if certain people think this was a good wrestling show they haven't gotten out and watched a variety of indy wrestling. If you say I'm being biased cause of the fed ten blocks away, I say the typical GAW show was better than this. Lot of problems still, I'll attend their Blood Sweat & Tears show in case they had an off week.
Thumbs down.
