I'm seeing too many wrestling shows and not enough variety...
If you don't know the disclaimer by now you've been asleep. Live from a building on south 11th.
Jay Rod and Shamus McNelson do the play by play tonight. The artist that formerly had PMS Donovan Taylor and Ricky the ref come out. Taylor says he's gonna have his revenge and freaks over the chant of 3CW. He makes the main event of Kandi Deluxe and Nemesis against Eddie Money, Hachet Warrior, and PHIL ROBERTS. He makes a pair of bonus matches with Nemesis and Kandi having individual handicap matches. Sheesh, I think this show has more handicap bouts in one evening than anyone else has ever had. Ricky is called a rat. Someone yells don't like the door hit your butt, he fires back your butt's so big the door wouldn't close. Ohhhhh...ouch! Donovan Taylor sure knows how to get heat in his promos.
Handicap Match
Nemesis vs. Psycho Sematic & Black Widow - The so-called Kings of Backyard do little but demonstrate they are the peasants of backyard when they try the simple stuff. Thankfully Nemesis hits the Razors Edge on Psycho and the DDT on Widow to save them from embarassing themselves even more by ending it quick. Bonus match my rear, this was a penalty.
WINNER: Nemesis pin -> 55 sec. -½*
Handicap Match
Kandi Kane vs. Dr. Gore & Phil Littleton - Whoops, it's not Deluxe. Kandi dominates these two hitting the double clothesline, the double noggin knocker, piles them in the corner for the big clothesline. A gingerly drop toe hold by Kandi, one by Gore. Kane with a side suplex, but misses the elbow. Gore and Littleton with the double suplex. Kane hits the BOOT on both men though, side slam on Gore, Kane goes up, clothesline off the top on Littleton. Gore gets chokeslammed and that's it. Total squash.
WINNER: Kandi Kane pin -> 4 mins. *
Billy Reno w/ Richard Biggs & Mandy Hart vs. Gavin Alexander w/ Jenna Giovanni - If this was GAW, this would be the battle between members of Hot Commodity but this is 3CW and these two aren't Hot Commodity. Gavin has a belt that he didn't win. Reno evades the lockup, but Gavin takes him down. Reno trips him up, but gets clotheslined down, legdrop, rope burn! Giovanni does some choking a bit, backbreaker Gavin, suplex, Russian leg sweep Gavin gets two. Gavin with a headbutt, Reno off the ropes and tries clotheslining him, it would take four to knock him over. Flying crosschop Reno, legdrop gets two. Gavin dumps Reno out and throws him into the stairs. Reno hits a LOW BLOW, back splashes in the corner, the commentary team telegraphs the third and he moves. Gavin with his own back splash into the corner, one hand cover gets two. Reno with a second rope clothesline, and Gavin tries to walk out, but Giovanni slaps him telling him to finish the match. Reno hits his "stack the deck" move three in a row, but Gavin with a low chokeslam, spinning rock bottom gets three. My colleague comments one of Reno's girls got so mad she ran to attack Giovanni and her mother had to pull her back.
WINNER: Gavin Alexander pin -> 10:45 mins. *½
Mickey McNelson w/ Pat Mugroin vs. Dickie Williams - Dickie wants a hug but Mickey attacks. He chokes away, clothesline gets two. Dickie with the whip and they collide and fall outside. Dickie walks up to Mugroin to confront him, and knocks his hat off. Pat caneshots him, Mick with a clothesline on the floor. Low kick, head slam on the commentary table and throws him in. Mickey with a side slam off a whip--almost lost him. Mickey goes up, Dickie slams him off for two. Back body drop gets two. Choke elbow gets two. LOW BLOW headbutt, LOW BLOW knees from Williams and he grabs the nubs. Pat argues with the ref, whip to the corner, charge and the ref gets sandwiched. Oops, Mickey flops down, Williams tunes up the band and hits SWEET SHIN MUSIC, stunner! A DDT that looked like just the D, one leg crab by Williams. Shamus hops out of his chair and lands the chairshots drawing the DQ. Leo Lagossi runs in to stop the assault by the Irish.
WINNER: Dickie Williams DQ -> 9:35 mins. *½
They go to intermission, and Donovan Taylor comes out to complain about the sock-hop because of the smell from people's feet. Bent Sprocket says we're either having a sock-hop or else it's gonna be an unsanctioned hardcore match with Taylor vs. the entire audience. Well the fans want the match, so Taylor says it's your fault if the county health department issues fines. After it began, this portion was written by a colleague:
Intermission - with a sock hop. Many beautiful young women enter the ring and move and groove to the music. It's a blast--all the fans are getting into it. Oh my...Crimefighter just entered the ring. Look at him man, he's great! Groovin' to every beat. Man--he's got timing and those moves...he's going to need a chiropractor tomorrow. Look him go with...oh no, don't do it Crimefighter--NO! Oh, the humanity...I just can't continue folks--this is beyond any postive description I can share...please no...stop!
He did some funny spiel on tape as well, I dunno if I should transcribe it since I said it wasn't gonna be published. I just feel silly trying to dance to anything. Always have, always will.
Jaxson Pride & Chip Conway vs. Vampire Kaval & Chuck Diamond - Pride seems to be completely over the damaged foot. An attempt to get the crowd into it early is met with resistance, I guess they want a DEAD crowd. Pride and Kaval start the match, they trade rollups for two. Armbars traded. Pride with a DDT, double elbows, Chip in, splash in the corner, legdrop Pride gets two. Double suplex gets two. Kaval with a poke, chops, jumping clothesline, legdrop gets two. Knee to the head, splash in the corner by Kaval. Pride in, powerbomb legdrop double team gets two. Tag Chip, suplex. Kaval with a grazing spinning heel kick. Kneedrop from the second by Kaval, leg choke, Chuck in to stomp. Kaval tries a powerbomb but can't pull it off and only gets two. Kaval tries another one but an ugly attempt at a reversal by Chip. Tag Chuck, he stomps away and does a reverse DDT into a backbreaker for two. Chuck with a forward suplex, and camel clutch. Pride in to beat Kaval off, Chuck whips Chip who hits a wheelbarrow into a cool looking stunner. Double tags, rock bottom into a backbreaker, enzuigiris by Pride. Pride attempts something that Chuck puts a stop to, Kaval with a springboard neckbreaker for two. They're all in there, the chops are flying and the ref gets knocked over. Pride falls on the ref, Chuck on Pride, Conway with a hurraconranna on Kaval. Pride gets thrown into the post by Chuck. Kaval with the behind the back shoulderbreaker. Apriq Laveq jumps in to attack Kaval with a chair. Kaval fends off Apriq, hits the wooden stake, behind the back piledriver and gets the pin. Kaval thought he had a bad match, others thought the same. I seem to have liked it more than others, maybe cause they had more energy and kept it interesting. By the way, Jay Rod seems to have morphed into 3CW's version of WWE interviewer Maria with his play by play skills.
WINNER: Vampire Kaval & Chuck Diamond pin -> 12:50 mins. **½
Apriq and Kaval are brawling all the way to the back. Pride puts in Chuck and hits the Shattered Pride. Donovan Taylor comes back out to talk about Blood Sweat & Tears. He trashes Chuck and his mask (facepaint) and the crowd gets riled up. He says Chuck's career is worth only one penny. Chuck asks who the hell does he think he is? He asks where he was when he was April of last year when he wrestled a hardcore match with Justin Blade...errr, I know the answer to that. He runs through a list of matches he had last year and says Donovan Taylor was no where to be found, well I KNOW where he was. Chuck says he'll win the next heavyweight title shot, Taylor offers $3,000 to anyone who takes out Chuck and ends his career. That's a waste of $3,000. He says Raven and other names will be at BST. The former NWA WORLD CHAMPION??? Oh he meant Jokaz.
Apriq Laveq vs. Jessie Clark - Armwringer Jessie, headlock takedown. Apriq with a kneeshot, drop toe hold Jessie. Jessie works the leg, dragon screw leg whip. Apriq with the side suplex for two. Clothesline, suplex Apriq gets two. Whip to the corner, Apriq with a knee. Whip sunset flip Jessie gets two, and we run through the pin combos. Apriq with a DDT, goes up, hits a flying elbow for two. Rear chinlock Apriq, clothesline Jessie, back drop, locks in the sharpshooter, lets it go and hits KICK WHAM DDT for the pin. Paint by the numbers and I'm getting bored with the basics.
WINNER: Jessie Clark pin -> 8:50 mins. *¾
Richard Biggs w/ Mandy Hart & Billy Reno vs. Petey Clark - Petey has been out injured the past couple months and this is his return. Pete kicks the leg, chopblock, clothesline. Forces a whip and hits another, goes up and hits a swanton bomb for two. Dang that usually finishes a match. Gut wrench suplex Biggs, legdrop on the arm, DDT Biggs gets two. Knees to the thigh Biggs, whip, Petey with a spinning neckbreaker for two. Petey slugs away, clothesline for two. Gut wrench powerbomb by Biggs. Clark with a snap sunset flip. Reno is on the apron to distract, Biggs grabs Clark and hits the Styles Clash for the win.
WINNER: Richard Biggs pin -> 5:55 mins. **
Hot Commodity proceeds to hit a spinebuster, elbow double team move. Jessie runs in to chase them off.
Jokaz vs. Brian Ealey w/ Nikki Rose - First match ever for Ealey and Nikki seems to keep blocking my view. They collide with each other but no dice. Shoulderblock Jokaz, monkey flip Ealey. Hammerlock Jokaz, hard clothesline gets two. Jokaz with a tripup into the ropes, 619 gets two! Corner ram by Jokaz, blockbuster gets two. Headbutt Ealey, leg snap, knee drop gets two. Suplex Ealey, goes up and hits a flying elbow. He tunes up the band but Jokaz hits a mule kick. Ealey hits a bulldog from the second rope, senton overshoots the target connecting with the back of the head only gets two. Dropkick Jokaz, goes up, 360 legdrop misses, Ealey headscissor takedown gets two. Make a wish legdrop Jokaz. TKO follows and someone runs out to attack Jokaz, he gets thrown into the wall. Now Hachet Warrior runs out and the ref tosses it. Ealey hits a boot to the face of Hachet when he tries to attack Ealey. Hacher runs off, and Jokaz shakes hands with Freak. Huh? For Ealey's first match, it wasn't too bad. Though the finish was quite confusing as "The Freak" attacks Jokaz, Hachet supposedly makes the save, but Jokaz leaves with "The Freak" and Ealey on friendly terms? Did I miss something?
NO WINNER: Double DQ -> 8:10 mins. **
Handicap Match
Nemesis & Kandi Kane vs. Hachet Warrior, Phil Roberts, & Edward Zimmerman Money w/ Donovan Taylor - Nemesis and Money start, full nelson into a headlock, Nemesis dumps him. Phil and Kane in. Kane pounds away on Phil, whip to the corner, Phil tries to punch back, clothesline in the corner is ineffective. Phil is whipped in the corner, slam, backbreaker stretch, side slam. LOW BLOW Phil, standing bulldog. Nemesis and Hachet in, clothesline Nemesis, Zimmerman in and gets clotheslined, headbutt. Nemesis gets Phil, suplex. "Get the weasel" chant, Nemesis and Kane do the DOOMSDAY DEVICE on Phil! Ricky refuses to count. Chokeslam on Zimmerman, post ram on Hachet. Ricky counts three but lies and says he got a shoulder up. Nemesis gets nailed and Phil gets an arm on for a rapid three count. Sheesh, Ricky trying to be like the old corrupt WWF official Danny Davis? Barf. Phil Roberts hits a stunner on Nemesis.
WINNER: Hachet Warrior, Phil Roberts, Edward Zimmerman Money pin -> 6:15 mins. *¼
The Verdict: I still haven't warmed up to the wrestling here, mainly for the fact that I've seen a lot of people execute a lot better elsewhere. A lot of people need a lot of improvement if they want to go anywhere, and appears it will take a few years.
Hung jury.
