Another long day capped by some action...

Last time I came through Peoria, it was getting up at 5-6am, driving a few hours and doing stuff during the daytime until it came time for the wrestling show, then the drive home to arrive at 12:30-1am in the morning. This time around I didn't drive as far, but I was outdoors much of the day in the bright sun and I had to kill a few hours to rest somewhere between the Peoria Superfest and NGW.

Your hosts are Scooter and Doug. They go over the lineup in the ring. Sound system problems make it hard to hear anything said on microphones all evening. They note the winner of the Top Spot Tournament will go against the heavyweight champion at Brawloween.

People's Choice Championship - Fatal Four Way
(c)Sinnister vs. Axis vs. "Party Boy" Ray "The Wrestler" Hez vs. "Asian Sensation" Brett Gikaya - Apparently Brett cut himself below the eye earlier in the day. Sinnister must win two straight falls to retain the title, everyone else only need one. First Fall: They all attack Sinnister, but he shoves everyone off. Sinnister dumps Axis out, Brett chops Ray. Axis is POSTED. Axis pulls someone out but gets hurraconrannaed for it! Sinnister attacks Hez, clotheslines him down. Brett gets kneed off by Sinnister. KICK WHAM DDT Ray gets two. Springboard headbutt gets two, Axis back in, Axis hits a boot. Brett and Ray elbow Sinnister, double whip Axis and hit the double clothesline. Ray and Brett slug it out, Brett eats BOOT! Axis, Brett and Ray with chainlink reverse DDTs. Ray goes up, Sinnister slow stands up, Hez and Axis lockup and spin around but Sinnister and Brett hit dropkicks on them. Sinnister kicks Hez out, dumps Axis out and gets his hand caught in the rope. Fight on the outside, Brett hits a grazing dropkick on Sinnister. Sinnister launches Brett into Axis and Ray to the floor! He's gonna kill that kid! Axis is put in, kick to the head, Brett forearms Ray. Sinnister whip sideslam on Axis gets two. Brett works Ray over, Sinnister fireman carry on Axis, Ray springboard dropkick on them. Sinnister rolls out, Axis is knocked out, chop by Brett on Axis. Ray has Axis on the top rope, Ray and Brett are up there with Axis, oh you're kidding me, DOUBLE DRAGON FLY!!! Can't believe I just saw that. Well Ray right after does a standing dragon fly on Brett for good measure. Sinnister covers Axis in the meantime and gets the pin at 6:05 mins. Second fall: Brett and Ray go after Sinnister, clubbing shots by Axis. Brett and Ray get whipped by Axis and Sinnister, clotheslines take all four out. Brett's up first, charges Axis, Sinnister chops Ray. Axis does some sort of spinebuster for two. Ray runs outside and flops down outside, Brett is hurled out and takes a bad fall on the floor. Brett is put on the safety rail. Sinnister rams Ray in the corner, headbutt low. A fan stands up holding a chair, wanting Axis to throw Brett into it. What is he thinking? Axis slams Brett on the floor, knocking out the railing. Axis throws Ray into the held chair by the fan. Ray goes up, Sinnister slams him off. Brett pounds on Axis, Ray with a tornado inverted F5 gets two. Axis and Sinnister slug it out in the corner, Sinnister wins it and walks on him. Brett with a baseball slide dropkick on Axis. Axis sunset flip, knee to the head gets two. Sinnister dumps Ray, but Ray jumps in quick before Sinnister could go after him. Sinnister is thrown into the post, Brett dropkick from the second on someone, slam. Flying shouldertackle by Axis on Sinnister on the outside. Brett moonsaults on Ray. Ray goes up, Brett joins him, Axis goes up for the superplex on those two, Sinnister has Axis's legs...double superplex powerbomb combo and Sinnister gets the pin on Axis to win the match.

WINNER and STILL CHAMP: Sinnister pin, pin -> 12:55 mins. ***¾

Excellent opener, saw some unique spots in there that I haven't seen done before. Yeah there's some people that hate spots and want to keep it slow, but this was a fun match.

Doug does an interview, and introduces Kyle Rich. Doug asks him about losing the title and why he's in street clothes. Kyle says he hasn't put on his gear yet. He's still gonna get in the ring tonight, and has put a stip in the rematch clause his opposition do not know about yet. The stip is that it's gonna be pinfalls only, no rules, no submissions, you have to win by pin. Oh boy, they're gonna be brawling all over the building potentially.

Apocolypse vs. Deacon Hobbs - Both men are the NGW Tag Champs but the two men who were supposed to be here to wrestle them did not show up. Hobbs says in the past seven years, he's never once defeated Apoc in a singles match and wants to wrestle him to make up for the lack of a tag title defense. Apoc says yes and it's on. Hobbs armbar, choke by Apoc, hip toss gets one. Slugfest in the corner, Apoc fameasser gets two. Headlock Apoc, shoveoff dropkick to the knee by Hobbs. Hobbs works the leg, and has the Boston Crab. He won't quit, so Hobbs hits a dropkick on the back of the knee, ankle legscissors by Hobbs. Hobbs kicks in the corner, boot choke, Apoc gets dumped out and hits the floor, Hobbs goes up, DIVE ON APOC! And both men are hurt. Ref jumps out to check on them, then starts counting and gets up to nine before one makes it in. Backbreaker reverse DDT by Apoc gets two. Hobbs somehow manages a ROCK BOTTOM for two. Apoc with a rollup that LOOKED like a three count but ref calls it two. Death valley driver Apoc finishes however for the win. Hobbs injured his right hip as he was holding onto it when moving to the back. Having the tag champs wrestle each other may have made no sense but they wanted to wrestle in some form tonight, now that injury is gonna hamper hanging onto the belts.

WINNER: Apocolypse pin -> 10:15 mins. **¼

Johnny Justice vs. Kody Kash w/ pNut - Man I can't hear the ring intros at all. Well it appears to be heel vs. heel here cause both are getting jeers. Snap mare Justice, trip by Kash, headlock Justice, double foot choke. Kash with a liontamer, Justice with elbows to the back gets two. Kash kick, charging elbow Justice. Knees to the gut, side effect by Kash. Diamond cutter Justice and Chris Hazard runs out to break up the match, apparently cause it wasn't going so great for either person.

NO WINNER: No contest -> 3:45 mins. ½*

Justice exits the ring immeadiately, Hazard whips Kash into the ropes but Justice pulls him out before Hazard could do anything to him. Hazard is letting fly the curse words, then proceeds to rant about Big Pappa and what he'll do to him in the tables match tonight, but it's hard to understand anything he's saying due to the crappy mikes and sound system. I think we're better off.

Top Spot Tournament - Third Round
"Soon To Be" Justin MacIntyre vs. Stumpy - Oh my, J-Mac has those odd-ball looking tights, and these are shorts instead of the long pants. And I hear Enimen has totally butchered another classic song, Sweet Dreams by Annie Lennox. Apparently he was the victim of a rib as he couldn't wear the long ones. So he looks even more goofier wearing this pair. "Soon To Be TST Champ?" J-Mac starts with the headlock, Stumpy with a shoulderblock, J-Mac with an armbar, Stumpy with a shootoff and hip toss. J-Mac with a splash in the corner, Stumpy hits a clothesline out of it. And both go outside, Stumpy actually gets a girl to hold J-Mac up to chop. J-Mac runs behind the curtain and Stumpy runs up to it, but doesn't actually go in, instead reaching to pull bodies out. Stumpy pulls out Ray Hez who begs off and goes back inside, Stumpy pulls him out again and he begs off, then he pulls out Dennis Devine who's jawing away on a cell phone and not paying attention to him. J-Mac charges out from behind the curtain knocking Devine down and clotheslines Stumpy. That was cute. J-Mac pounds away on the floor, puts Stumpy in and kicks away in the corner. J-Mac hits a clothesline off the whip, and Devine is steaming outside saying he's gonna call the cops and tries to make the call. The ring announcer appears to be irritated with Devine. J-Mac works the leg, small package gets two. Stumpy up, slams J-Mac, whip to the corner...splash! Stumpy with a splash on the mat gets two. J-Mac hits a dropkick to the knee however and locks in the STF and it's a tapout! The comedy gelled with the match okay.

WINNER: Justin MacIntyre submission -> 8:05 mins. **

Devine is still blowing a gasket and gets into an arguement with Doug, and they get into a BRAWL! Security has to run out to pull these two apart! Devine he ain't.

Ryan Phoenix vs. Jester - TripC and Black Dragon come out to sit in the audience. Headlock Ryan, armbar Jester, hip toss blocked, flying headscissors Jester, shoulderblock, DDT gets two. Jester with a full nelson slam gets two. Jester puts Phoenix on the top rope, he throws the uppercuts, hurraconranna off the top gets two. Phoenix hits a high knee, kneedrop gets two. Neckbreaker, suplex, side suplex Ryan gets two. Jester reverses the whip into the corner and Ryan goes flying over the top to the floor. Jester with a gut wrench suplex on the floor, puts him in, savat kick gets two. Jester with the unprettier gets two. Jester goes up, hits a second rope clothesline for two. And TripC and Black Dragon jump the rail and jump in the ring, Jester takes out Dragon, Phoenix takes out TripC! And they run away to the back. Jester with a double underhook into a powerbomb...gets TWO! Neckbreaker by Jester, Phoenix gets up and hits a jumping enzuigiri on an unaware Jester. Phoenix with shots to the face, Jester SUPERKICK LIGHTS OUT gets two! Jester whip reverse, sunset flip Jester but dropkick by Phoenix gets a slow two. Phoenix is going up, Jester goes up and hits an uppercut, fight on the ropes, Phoenix knocks Jester off, Jester trips Phoenix on an exposed turnbuckle, Jester tries a hurranconranna but Phoenix has him caught...for a STYLES CLASH off the second rope for the pin! Glad the interference did not factor into the end result.

WINNER: Ryan Phoenix pin -> 10:50 mins. ***¼

So the Top Spot Tournament finale is Justin MacIntyre vs. Ryan Phoenix. And they take a brief intermission.

NGW Triple Threat Championship - Pinfall Match
(c)Russ RC Stevens vs. CJ Esparez vs. "Little Pappa" Kyle Rich - Well I remember the last time I watched Stevens, he couldn't hit anything at all right and had one of his worst matches ever. Let's see what happens here. Only pinfalls win the match, submission holds, countouts, DQs are out the window, which means it could get hardcore in a hurry. Russ Stevens comes out wielding a light saber as the Darth Vader theme plays. They circle around and do the poseoff, even the ref gets into it. Three way tieup, Russ with a kick, he stomps on CJ's knee, Kyle takes the headband off and punches away at his head Russ bails. Kyle rubs the headbutt in the crotch, haha. Wheelbarrow rollup by CJ gets two. CJ sunset gets two. And I see Rich has cut Russ's head and he's bleeding. Hammerlock CJ, Kyle headlock, Russ in and the headlocks are chained, shoveoff, hip toss blocked by Kyle and he kicks Russ in the face! Kyle armdrag, nasty looking backdrop on someone. Russ is on the middle rope and CJ charges through the ropes with the boot wipe to the floor! Running knee to the face sends Kyle to the floor, leaping springboard clothesline by CJ gets two. CJ whip, gets tossed to the apron, Kyle Rich with a headscissor neck snap sending CJ to the floor. Russ shoulderblocks Kyle to the floor, Russ charges, Kyle sidesteps a SUICIDE DIVE to the floor and Russ is flat on his back! Rich off the ropes, SUICIDE DIVE on Stevens! CJ goes up, suicide flip onto Rich & Russ! Standing moonsault gets two. Russ is put in the tree of woe, Kyle Rich wants CJ to pitch to him as if they're playing softball. CJ throws air, Kyle knocks one out of the ring and runs the bases to KICK Russ in the head! Funs over though as Kyle and CJ slug it out. CJ tries the matrix but Kyle drops the elbow on him. Rich with a kick to the head, pounds away, boot to the head! Stevens just now gets on his feet, kick to the chest. Rich goes a cartwheel to escape a move, chop, backbreaker on Stevens. CJ goes up, SHOOTING STAR ELBOWDROP! Kyle fights CJ over the cover, hits a modified fisherman's buster on CJ for two. CJ gets yanked to the floor, leg drop on the ropes, Rob Conway's finisher the Ego Trip by Rich gets two. Rich has Stevens in the northern lights for two but CJ breaks it up and gets two. Stevens armbar DDT on CJ gets two. Stevens suplexes CJ on the top rope, Rich up, electric chair on Russ by Rich! Rich and CJ fight on the top rope, jumping enzuigiri! Cradle neckbreaker by Rich gets two! Full nelson by Russ, into a Russian legsweep, German suplex gets two. CJ wheelbarrow but gets dropped face first. A variant of a death valley driver gets two. Rich dumps Stevens into the bottom rope who falls out the hard way. CJ whip, goes over the top, Russ pulls him off, Rich kicks him off, Russ has a chair! Fameasser by Rich that misses the chair only getting two! CJ KICK WHAM DDT on the chair gets two! Another chair is fetched! CJ with the CANDIAN DESTROYER on Kyle gets two! Russ with a CHAIRSHOT on CJ! It's gone to hardcore! Chair is set up, Rich struggles to hang Stevens on the top rope to do the Ego Trip on Stevens aiming for the chair but misses, so he does it again grazing the chair with it, getting the pin and the title. Well, it appears all it took was someone else to carry the match and it made a big difference--it was an excellent contest. Get the blotter to carry these guys outta here. Russ wants to shake hands but Rich stomps his hand.

WINNER and NEW CHAMP: "Little Pappa" Kyle Rich pin -> 17:35 mins. ****

Top Spot Tournament - Final Round
"Soon To Be" Justin MacIntyre vs. Ryan Phoenix - So I'm holding the "Soon To Be TST Champ!" sign, and he throws a bottle at me. Geewhiz what was THAT for? J-Mac should just call himself "The Enigma" and be done with it. They test their strength, Ryan runs with it to the top rope and hits an armdrag, spinning heel kick. Ryan proceeds to mock J-Mac by doing the Flair strut. Poke, chop, neckbreaker by J-Mac. BEE LEE DRIVER gets two! Side headlock by J-Mac, shoveoff, J-Mac goes over the top and gets hung by his own leg. Yeek. Ref unties him and he rolls out, Phoenix tries a surprise suicide dive but J-Mac makes him miss by a mile. J-Mac back in, Phoenix in, Ryan with a sudden figure four but J-Mac gets a LOW BLOW. J-Mac with two piledrivers and the STYLES CLASH...gets only TWO. No way! Phoenix with a Rock Bottom gets two. Split legged moonsault Phoenix gets two. He tries a 450 but MISSES, J-Mac locks in the STF and J-Mac CAME TO BE TST CHAMP! So J-Mac will be getting a future title shot with the winner of the table match.

WINNER: Justin MacIntyre submission -> 8:20 mins. ***

Morton Von Prose vs. Scott Keyes - Prose is claiming to be the MVP of NGW. Yeah right, only if you do a five star match. He claims to be the future of the business, and he's gonna school us as to what wrestling's all about. Waistlock Prose, Keyes reverses and gets a takedown into the knee getting two. Hammerlock Prose, Keyes with the opening trio and takedown gets two. Keyes works the arm, Prose gets out and applies a modified sharpshooter. Keyes gets out and pounds away, hits an elbow and knees to the back. Second rope kneedrop gets two. Whip Keyes, puts his head down and gets kicked and clotheslined. Prose works the arm, goes up, swanton bomb gets KNEES. Keyes goes up, frog splash MISSES. Fireman's carry into a gutbuster by Prose, ab stretch using the ropes but eventually gets caught by the ref. Spinning heel kick by Keyes, they slug it out. Prose hits three powerbombs and goes to a jetski armbar. Keyes with a mule kick, ten punch count, but Prose powerbombs him out and uses the ropes for the illegal pin. Ref claims he didn't see it, well duh you didn't look and you weren't listening.

WINNER: Morton Van Prose pin -> 9:55 mins. **½

NGW Heavyweight Championship - Tables Match
(c)Chris Hazard vs. Big Pappa - Hazard tries leaving with the belt, but Pappa chases after him. Pappa is rammed into the post, Hazard chops him, apron slam, Hazard stomps, puts Pappa in. Hazard pounds away, whip shoulderblock. Hazard goes up, top rope flying elbow MISSES by a mile. Clotheslines Pappa, splash in the corner, powerbomb. And the first table is fetched, Pappa goes for the powerbomb but Hazard escapes. Kick in the corner by Hazard, dropkick to the knee, elbows on the back, he attempts to slam Pappa but can't lift him. Pappa hits the black hole slam. Ref counts and Hazard pulls out a chain and chokes Pappa with it. Referee tries to take it away and gets into a skirmish with Hazard, Hazard PUNCHES the ref out with the chain! Great... Justin MacIntyre runs out, assists Hazard in chokeslamming Pappa through the table. J-Mac tells Hazard let's set up another table and GORE Pappa through it, Hazard likes the way he's thinking. They fetch another table and it's set up in the corner. J-Mac turns on Hazard and SPEARS him through the table! He wakes up the referee and tells him both men are through tables and to restart the match. Match never stopped really. Whip by Pappa clothesline and knocks the ref over. Boy he's not having a good night is he? Clean up crew tries to remove the broken table pieces, doing it the hard way of shoving the wide pieces under the bottom rope under they finally throw the things over the top rope. Hazard's up, kick to the gut, KICK WHAM STUNNER by Pappa! Pappa slams Hazard through a third table and it's OVER!!!

WINNER and NEW CHAMP: Big Pappa KO -> 11:50 mins. **¾

The enigma has struck again, had to wonder why J-Mac helped Hazard put Pappa through a table, but speared Hazard through one himself, but I guess it was to get heat with whoever it was that won. And now, something I've never done before, I get the exclusive victory speech from the victor:

"I dunno man, I didn't think I was gonna beat him, especially when I went through a table. You guys thought I was finished right? Thanks man."

I believe I got what he said. A group of cruiserweights try to hoist Pappa on their shoulders but can't lift him...hahaha. Hazard can't believe what's happened to him, and fans are yelling loser! Hazard is furious. And another show comes to a close.

The Verdict: NGW has come a long way since that first show I came to see last year, to the point where I'd probably go regularly if I lived closer to Peoria. Fun show all the way through, some unique sights seen in the ring, there was only one stinker in the pile but it was kept short. I just wish MORE people would come to watch the major shows. The next major show is gonna be on October 15th, Brawloween, headlined by Big Pappa vs. Justin MacIntyre for the heavyweight championship. "Soon To Be" NGW Heavyweight Champion?
