The Other Brawloween - NGW's version, 10/15/2K5
The Rap Sheet - from the Mad Conservative
Next Generation Wrestling's Happy Brawloween
10/15/2K5 Peoria, IL

Another hit in a string of them, now if they'd market their stuff on tape...

This rap sheet and the archive are posted in the Rap Sheet Dossier and Blog at http://rap-sheet.tripod.com or http://www.livejournal.com/~rap_sheet/. It is also linked to the source for St. Louis wrestling news and information at the St. Louis Wrestling Community at http://www.livejournal.com/community/stlwrestling/ covering eastern Missouri, central and southern Illinois.

I've been bugging TripC about the lack of NGW videos for sale at shows. He seems to believe that there isn't any demand for them so none are being made whatsoever. I'd like to suggest a pre-order system. Have a book of what you have available, dates and match listings for each show and have it out for fans to look through and say, hey I would like a tape of this show. Prepay the money, the week after or next major show have the tape or DVD made for them and thus there'd be no worry about getting rid of excess inventory. It is how GAW is doing things right now, and it would probably be a better way for NGW to make money off its shows, especially when there's so much material a lot of fans miss with the weekly events and attendance being under 50 or so each week. It's worth a try.

I wasn't sure I was gonna get up there to watch the event, given the crap that's been flying about the past few months, but things settled down enough that I could go up there and watch. Speaking of crap, I may have something to say about it next week.

Live from the Peoria Riverplex. Your hosts are Scooter and Doug Devore, who go over the lineup for tonight's show. Devore says what he's gonna do to Dennie Devine. Kyle Rich, Brett Gikaya and Ryan Phoenix are sitting at the merchandise table for the first half. Attendance was about 100 when the show started but there were latecomers so it may had gotten as high as 125.

NGW Tag Team Championship
(c)DNA - Apocolypse & Deacon Hobbs vs. Morton Von Prose & Johnny Justice - MVP's got a strange hairdo, and his name is one letter off...should be MWP, for most WORTHLESS player. Prose signed this match for himself plus a partner of his choosing. Prose says there's very few people worthy to be his partner and the crowd gets on him QUICK. His first choice of Russ Stevens was tied up in another match so he picked a dark horse, someone who's been in a rut lately and it's Johnny Justice. Well this is your unlikely partners match. MVP and Hobbs start, MVP runs into a fist three times in comical fashion. So he tags Justice, who tries to clip Hobbs. But Hobbs hits the clothesline as MVP complains about good sportsmanship. Clothesline Justice, tag MVP and he slugs and chops away. Hobbs fights out, tag Apoc. Chops in the corner, and MVP tags Justice to bail. Lockup, shove Apoc. Apoc scissors kick misses, legdrop Justice, tag MVP. Step over into a crossarm breaker by Prose, Apoc stands up with it and holds him down for two. Apoc picks him up from the crossarm and powerbombs Prose for two! Tag Hobbs, slam, Apoc suplexes Hobbs onto Prose. Prose with a poke and tags Justice. Johnny tries to chokeslam Hobbs but he's too tall, then SOMEHOW Justice pulls it off! Errr...I think Hobbs was playing him for a sucker, cause Hobbs comes back with a very hard chokeslam for two. LOW BLOW Justice and tags Prose. Headlock, but Hobbs chokeslams HIM. Tag Apoc, BOOT grazes him on the shoulder for two. Tag Hobbs, whip backfires as Prose gets a clothesline and tags Justice. Full nelson camel clutch by Justice, but turns it loose when he won't submit, double clotheslines send them both down. Double tags, Apoc hits the clotheslines, backbreaker and Edgucation Apoc, spinebuster gets two. Death valley driver Apoc gets two, Hobbs and Apoc hit a double reverse Russian leg sweep on Prose and get the pin. Good opener, even those the crowd for the most part were kinda quiet.

WINNERS and STILL CHAMPS: Apocolypse & Deacon Hobbs pin -> 11:40 mins. ***

MVP and Justice get into a shoving match over losing and Justice gives him a Diamond Cutter to adjust Prose's attitude. Two unknown guys come out from the back to drag Justice and Prose to the back for no apparent reason--what's THAT about?

Triple Threat Match
Black Dragon vs. "Student of the Game" Russ Stevens vs. "Party Boy" Ray Hez w/pNut & Kody Kash - Stevens comes out with a toy light saber and black cape and yells at Kyle Rich. Russ is wearing goggles, apparently his eyesight has gotten bad enough to the point where he needs them. Hez comes out wearing head gear like Rick Steiner used to wear. Stevens and Dragon attack Hez, kicks to the knees, double elbows, rolls him over, double whip, double elbows by Hez! Hez clotheslines Russ out of the ring! Standing bulldog on Dragon. Dragon and Stevens on the floor to huddle, Hez joins them and they attack! Dumb. Hez tries to poke them in the eyes but both of them are wearing eye protection! So he rams their heads together. Apron moonsault by Hez on the Dragon! pNut jumps in and gets a flying headscissors on Stevens! Russ protests, Hez back in and hits a suplex. Russ wants a time out, Dragon grabs Hez's legs, Stevens with a neckbreaker on Hez, elbow by Dragon. Russ dropkicks Hez. Dragon chops Hez, Russ chops Hez, crowd gets to laughing as Hez fires back. Double whip to the corner and Hez flops to the mat. They make a wish and yank them legs apart! Double spinning toe hold, Russ tries a cover but Dragon stops him. Hez bails and Dragon punches Russ on the back, Russ shoulderblocks, kick to the gut and head! Hez back in, double chops to the shoulders, but Russ double chop to the shoulders of Hez sends him out. Russ whip reverse Dragon clothesline! Dragon kicks away, step over and sits on the arm! pNut pokes Ray with the lightsabre. Hez rolls up Dragon for two, Russ pulls Hez into the ropes to work on the apron. Hez kicks Russ off, shoulderblock by Dragon sends Russ to the floor. pNut whacks Russ, Dragon goes up, splash attempt gets KNEES. Stevens sneaks in, pNut yells warnings, Ray elbows and tries an eye poke in vain, German suplex on Dragon instead and locks in a rear chinlock. Hez kick to the head, Hez goes up, Russ hits a punch to groin, German suplex off the top! Hez lands spun around, Stevens tries for a sharpshooter but is thrawted by Dragon. Stevens beats him down and tries for one on Dragon but Hez kicks him off, dumps Dragon. Hez whip to the corner, PILEDRIVER on Stevens by Hez! He pulls the goggles off and puts them off, goes up top, punch from the top rope. Dragon back in, pNut spits in Stevens face, Ray KO punch on Dragon, goes back up but flops off the top face first. What happened? Dragon with a reverse figure four on Hez, Stevens sneaks in, turns it and covers for the pin! Ohhh...sneaky! Dragon can't believe it. pNut's not happy about things. Stevens gets a few parting words on Kyle Rich. A lot of the punches and kicks throughout looked kinda weak, which dampened the match as a whole so it wasn't that great of a triple threat as it might've been.

WINNER: Russ Stevens pin -> 11:35 mins. **

Strap Match
Buzz Rogers vs. Stumpy - That strap looks long enough where both guys could stand at opposite ends of the ring and hit the corners. This is the first time I've seen Buzz before, and some people are taunting him with "Lightyear". Stumpy apparently won the NGW Heavyweight Title for all of ten minutes a few weeks ago, but I haven't read anything about it. Buzz attacks early before the straps are even secured and hits a DDT. He punches away with the strap and chokes him. Stump yanks the strap to knock him over, and whips him like a child. Stump yanks Buzz outside and has fans in the front row hold him up to be chopped. Buzz is put in but he yanks Stumpy down, Buzz baseball slide dropkick, dive attempt after MISSED! Stump whips him again, touches three corners but Buzz interrupts with a dropkick. Stump whips him again, puts him in the tree of woe and chokes him with the strap. Stump hits three corners but Buzz clobbers Stump to break it up. Stump responds with a Samoan drop, clothesline and this time hits all over and ends it. Match was okay.

WINNER: Stumpy KO -> 7 mins. **½

People's Choice Championship - Hardcore Match
(c)Sinnister vs. Jester - These two used to be tag partners as the duo of 2 Dam Bad but they are no longer on friendly terms. They warn everyone to move if the fight spills into their area. Jester runs in the ring then goes under the ring...and STAYS there. Sinnister comes out and looks confused. Sinnister has no idea where Jester is hiding, he looks under the apron and gets lidshotted! Sinnister with a trashcan shot, gets a pumpkin...PUMPKIN SHOT! Jester is put in as a mom wisely gets her cradle of joy away from ringside. Sinnister drops Jester on the ropes, whip to the corner, clothesline! And he pulls out a couple of SPIKES! Jester hits a dropkick to the leg and SPIKES Sinnister in the head! And Sinnister is bleeding already, the barbed wire board is fetched, Sinnister steals it, HEADSHOT! Trashcan is fetched, Sinnister goes to the back, comes back out with a bag! Jester is bleeding, a RUBBER CHICKEN materializes...LOW BLOW on Sinnister! Forearm from the second Jester, CANSHOT! LOW BLOW Sinnister, he SPIKES HIM! Jester just got nailed. CHICKEN SHOT by Sinnister! Well that gets some laughs. Jester is hung in the tree of woe, can put on his face, DROPKICK! Sinnister fetches a STAPLE GUN! And he wants MONEY! Why do people use them things anyway? Sinnister staples money to Jester, Jester staples money to Sinnister! Sick. Reverse kick Jester, SUPERKICK gets two. Money is still on Sinnister's face, just gross. Board shots by Jester, canshot gets two. Jester second rope legdrop misses. Undaunted, he gets a chair, Sinnister attacks and dumps him on the floor. ANOTHER pumpkin shot by Sinnister, canshot, toss into the post. And Sinnister jumps back in the ring and dumps the bag in the ring, it's TACKS! Jester put in, SPINEBUSTER IN THE TACKS and that gets the pin. Some of this stuff was just sick. They leave the ring with tacks in their shoes, their arms, their back, their legs. I don't like being poked with needles, I can imagine how much I'd hate getting dropped onto those!

WINNER and STILL CHAMP: Sinnister pin -> 12:45 mins. ***

They wisely go to intermission at this point to clean up the mess, then have a bunch of drawings to give away stuff.

Triple Threat Championship - Ladder Match
(c)Kyle Rich vs. Brett Gikaya vs. Ryan Phoenix - Well the special referee for his match is Russ Stevens. Kyle armdrags Brett, monkey flip into Phoenix where Brett headscissors him. Styles Clash attempt, a kickdown by the third person gets the move executed. Brett and Kyle trade chops, Phoenix eats a BOOT. Brett headlocks Rich, shootoff, shoulderblock no effect. Rich kick to the gut, whip Phoenix clothesline in the corner. Ryan goes flying over the top by Rich. Rich works over Brett, whip dropkick to the leg. Ryan fetches a stepladder, stands there with it as Rich jumps off Brett to dive on him that Scooter scores 6.9. Ryan's hurt. Brett and Kyle circle, Rich trips him, works the ankle as if he was going for a submission. Someone yells at Stevens to be a ref. Phoenix puts the ladder on the apron but it gets dropkicked in his face. Rich up, snap mare, reverse headlock into the ropes. Kyle whip Brett high knee. Full nelson into a backbreaker by Phoenix on Brett. The big ladder is put in, shoulderblock by Phoenix, dropkick by Rich on Phoenix. Rich baseball slide and Phoenix hits the floor again. Brett set up the step ladder, Kyle chops, Brett moonsaults off the ladder onto Rich and Phoenix on the floor! Dangerous! Phoenix throws Brett into the post! Springboard attempt doesn't work so it's a slingshot crossbody on Rich and Brett. Ironically that little stepladder is actually tall enough to reach the belt. Phoenix slams Brett onto the stepladder, double arm sends Phoenix into the ladder. Brett whips Rich, dropkick, elbows. Phoenix chops Brett, Rich puts the ladder in the corner, Phoenix tries a powerbomb, but he hurraconrannas out and sends Ryan to the ladder. Rich dumps Brett into the post. Phoenix pushed out, and Kyle goes up with the stepladder. Rich gets knocked off by Brett, and Brett goes up, but gets intercepted by Phoenix. Brett is hanging off the chain! Rich helps Kyle up to get Brett down, Brett with a headscissors on Rich from Phoenix's shoulders! Discus punch by Phoenix on Gikaya! Razor's Edge by Phoenix into the ladder goes Gikaya! That ladders bent up now. Ryan sets up the ladder, Rich stops him, and pulls his pants down and slaps him on his rear end! Phoenix is in the tree of woe on the ladder, Rich kicks him, Brett on top of a ladder, double stomp to the face of Phoenix! Brett goes after the big ladder, Rich intercepts. They fight on the floor, Rich pushes him in, Kyle drops a knee, he wants Phoenix for a double team, double stomp to the chest on Brett, Rich enzuigiri on Phoenix! Rich fetches the big ladder, oh come use the little one! Phoenix gets hit with the ladder, Brett walks up the ladder and moonsaults into a reverse DDT on Phoenix and kicks Rich in the face. Tornado attempt by Brett, springboard dropkick on Phoenix! Brett don't die! Rich and Phoenix are down, they get up, Rich misses his target, Phoenix hits double knees on Brett! Phoenix goes for the belt, he opts to just hang from the chain, Rich hits a dropkick on Phoenix and messes up his knee. Closing in on 15 minutes. Gikaya goes up for the belt again, Phoenix up, STYLES CLASH OFF THE LADDER!!! Gikaya is DONE. All three are down, Russ Steven just stands there looking at them. Rich has the smaller ladder, Phoenix off the ropes and gets belly to belly slammed into the ladder! They're all down again, Brett goes up, Rich up and stops him. Rich has Gikaya, fisherman's buster off the LADDER! YEEK! Phoenix puts Brett in the tree of woe, Phoenix puts the ladder on Brett, VAN DAMINATOR! I don't see how Brett can go anymore. Rich and Phoenix climb the ladder, Russ Stevens in and SHOVES THE LADDER! The referee! He helps Brett Gikaya up, Brett dropkicks Stevens! Don't interfere in my match! Rich wants to do something to Stevens, suplex splash on Stevens! Phoenix nails Russ with the ladder. Brett with a standing dragonfly on Rich! We need another ref! Brett and Phoenix on dueling ladders, Rich dumps them both down, Phoenix is dumped onto Stevens while another ref attends to him and isn't paying ANY attention to the action! Brett pulls down the belt, Kyle Rich yanks the belt out of his hands and shoves him off. The referee NOW looks up and calls for the bell awarding it to Rich. Oh PLEASE! Crowd was NOT happy with how that match ended, Rich getting some heel heat. Brett was definately ripped off.

WINNER and STILL CHAMP: Kyle Rich KO -> 20:50 mins. ****½

Kody Kash w/pNut vs. Big Pappa - Big Pappa was NGW champ...for a WEEK. Was rather shocked to see them hot shot it back to Hazard that quick. Anyway, this is supposedly to determine who gets first crack at Hazard, as Pappa has the rematch clause and Kash apparently won a battle royal for a title shot. Two girls fall all over themselves over Pappa, literally. Quite amusing. These two also think I'm infatuated with Cheyenne...I don't know where THAT came from considering I haven't seen the person in a year nor ever talked to her. Pappa with the shove, so Kash wants a strength test. Pappa goes for it, but gets kicked, so he twists them hands. Kash with a headbutt to the gut, Pappa with the chop, whip to the corner but misses the splash. Kash with the choke, whip attempt is blocked, Kash kicks for all he's worth and works on the leg with the rope. Pappa fights him off and splashes him in the corner, belly to belly slam, powerslam. Pappa locks in a full nelson, but Kash kicks him in the groin. Springboard elbow Kash, running elbow, running BOOT. Second boot is blocked, as Kash took too long. Clothesline Pappa, elbow misses. Kash charges but runs into the BLACK HOLE SLAM that bounced the whole ring off the ground a few inches and that gets the pin.

WINNER: Big Pappa pin -> 8:20 mins. *½

Course the bookers went and rendered this match completely pointless by having Kody Kash wrestle Hazard first a week later despite the stipulation in the contract. Why'd they bother making this match with that stip in the first place???

Straight Jacket Match
Dennis Devine vs. Doug Devore - Devine thinks he should be having a run as the heavyweight champ, but for some reason thinks beating Stumpy in a match is the best way to get there instead of merely issuing a challenge to Hazard. Devine runs through the crowd with briefcase ripping up a kids sign, which prompts me to stand and glare at him so he dares try to kiss me on the head before I shove him away. Devore runs through the crowd hugging people at random. Devore proceeds to give me a hug as well, sheesh whatever happened to a handshake? Devore actually had a full set of wrestling gear, for those who obsess over "looking like a wrestler" when they're in the ring. Lockup, shove Devine, Devore shoves him back. Doug slugs away, Dennis with a rake. Doug with a clothesline, they spill out, Devine rams Devore into the side of the ring, throws him in, snap mare, sleeper hold! The ref for some reason is frantically trying to get him to release the hold saying he has to put him in the straight jacket to win. Ummm...wouldn't putting him to sleep make it easier to put that jacket on? He gets some of the jacket on but Doug fights up and hits the STUNNER! Dennis grabs the briefcase, Doug KICK WHAM DDT on the case! Dennis is OUT! Devore takes his time and gets that jacket on and it's over! For good measure Devore puts clown makeup and lipstick from that briefcase on Devine's face. Real basic match as Devore was gonna be limited due to lack of prior ring experience and they pulled it off.

WINNER: Doug Devore KO -> 7:35 mins. **

NGW Heavyweight Championship
(c)Chris Hazard vs. "The Enigma" Justin MacIntyre - What Justin was soon to be and came to be, is an enigma. Completely unpredictable, takes a step forward but two steps back, friendly one day hostile the next, can't figure out his motivations or nothing--that's JMac. And for some reason he chugs a mouthful of water and spits it at me, which I manage to avoid...but I'm gonna have to get another chair. Well due to that and Cherry Malone shooting water at me the previous night I'm taking my own bottle of water to shows to return fire the NEXT show I attend. JMac screams he's gonna take the belt back tonight, and no one can say otherwise. Uh, I DO. Hazard charges the ring after JMac and they're brawling! Hazard clothesline, elbow gets two. Suplex Hazard, JMac slugs away, but gets sideslammed. Hazard eats a boot from JMac however, snap mare, elbow gets two. JMac chop, whip dropkick that just grazes Hazard. Hazard responds with shoulderblocks in the corner, JMac pulls the ref in the way of one of those and he's out! Oh boy. PILEDRIVER by JMac! And he CLOBBERS THE REF! WTF??? JMac grabs the belt, and nails the ref with it! Geez, what's with him tonight? JMac misses a beltshot on Hazard, Hazard nails HIM with it! Hazard screams at him for using his belt as a weapon, Hazard goes up with the belt, BAM TO THE FACE! Hazard berates him and JMac goes to the floor, and comes up bleeding! Hazard tosses JMac into the post, but JMac with a LOW BLOW and scissors up a leg. Hazard slugs, slam, Hazard goes up, the belt is laying on JMac, FROG SPLASH on the belt gets two! DDT JMac gets two! Hazard whip, JMac catches Hazard with the Justification! And JMac attacks the referee with a headbutt! JMac winds up but misses the beltshot, SPEAR HAZARD gets the pin! I dunno HOW JMac got away with slugging the referee a number of times during this and didn't get DQ'ed. This wasn't a no-DQ match, it was a straight up match. The first time it happened it was at the four minute mark and I would had been quite unhappy if the main event ended like that before things got going. JMac sure was a bloody mess and his behavior solidifies the enigma personna. One of his better matches though.

WINNER and STILL CHAMP: Chris Hazard pin -> 10:50 mins. ***¼

The Verdict: Seems a lot of matches were in the average range with the ladder match blowing away all of them. No real stinkers in the pile so the show overall was about the same levels as Indy-Structable. If you've never gone to Peoria to watch these guys, you can catch them every week at the Peoria Athletic Club.

Thumbs up.

Hey Crime I am currently working on putting the DVD together for Scars n Stripes just recently got a burner so I am trying to put out more DVDs. As far as Indy-Structable I don't know if there will be a DVDs for that show because they got lost somewhere.....And Brawloween no DVDs for that because of the lack of camera angles(only one stationary). So there's your answer to that.

Hey crimefighter, get a life and quite overanalyzing matches like your opinion means anything, no wrestlers like you and unless you actually plan on becoming a wrestler I suggest you get a real job!
