NGW Peoria 11/19/2K5 Reviewed
The Rap Sheet - from the Mad Conservative
Next Generation Wrestling
11/19/2K5 Peoria, IL

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss???

The views expressed by me are solely my own, and do not reflect the views of any friends, family or wrestling organization, certainly not NGW and its webmaster. The webmaster needs to stop trying to censor me, else I'm gonna get louder and post the stuff being surpressed over a wider area than I normally would.

Live from the Peoria Athletic Club. Your hosts are Scooter and Doug Devore. I was told people are making bets on what I rate the matches tonight, well I'd like to see who bet how much on how many stars and why.

Sinnister comes out first to say a few words about Eddie Guerrero and have the ten bell salute.

Devore asks Scooter about what's been going on about new management. Scooter says he's been a wild week but he reports his ownership percentage has increased to 44%. He says he new majority owner hit a windfall and bought into NGW. (Who were the prior owners?) Devore reports the tag team DNA retired as tag champions with Apocolypse hanging it up and new champs are gonna be crowned in a battle royal. They also report that Scotty Keyes and Jason Chamira got into a brawl during a training session a couple days ago and injured themselves.

There's a table set up that has a sign that says Devine Intervention. And coming out first with stuff to put on the table is...COLIN MCDOWELL??? What is HE doing here? Well they don't call him by name. He says he's the newest representative of Dennis Devine and wants everyone to please rise for his entrance. The crowd refuses, but Devore wants us to do it anyway, so I stand up with my back to the entrance. We're wasting time here. Devine says he's back and gets into it a little with Devore over a previous match where Devore pinned Devine to the mat. He got a contract to return as the manager of champions, but he turned it down and signed a developmental wrestlers contract instead. Yeah this guy thinks he should be wrestling Hazard for the title but doesn't dare issue a direct challenge. He complains about the furniture being from K-Mart that he has to use. For today's Intervention he'll pull out a contraversial person. Devore mocks him for saying pull out. Devine brings out referee Josh Powers. Powers is a nervous wreck. I would be too if I had to sit next to Devine and Colin. Devine wants opinions on his looks. Bleh, WHO CARES? He finally gets around to asking about being stalked by Hazard and what happened to the title belt. Hazard comes out from the back cussing up a storm and Josh Powers is begging off. How'd he know HE did it? Deacon Hobbs comes out, ANGRY! Hobbs tells him he's been running around three weeks and messing around with the flippies. He doesn't give a rip who took his belt and if he can't hold onto it he don't deserve it. Hobbs says he made a major mistake attacking him, cause DNA is done he's free. He wants Hazard in a STREET FIGHT TONIGHT!

Now the former triple threat champion comes out with a title belt that he lost last week to Brett Gikaya. Rich says at Brawloween the bell never rang until he got a hold of it. He complains about how the three way ended, that Russ Stevens hits the Skool Daze, he would had kicked out of it, but Black Dragon interfered in the match and it should had been a DQ. Instead Brett hits him with a move and pins him. He says Robbie the ref screwed up cause his foot was under the bottom rope. Speaking of interference, Russ Stevens as referee tried to rig it so Brett would win but Brett beat the crap out of him with Phoenix and Rich. But anyway Brett is brought out. Rich wants Brett to say what happened last week didn't happen. Bull, he's a sore loser and that's all there is to it. So he addresses me to write down what he's saying cause it's GOLD. Whatever Kyle. Scooter is laughing. Kyle turns his attention to him and wants to know what's so funny. He threatens to slap him. Scooter suggests bringing out the new majority owner to tell him what's so funny. Scooter says cause he won the Mexican lottery, Homeless Pedro bought a majority share of NGW. Errrr...is this for real? Pedro tells Rich he's not triple threat champ. He says Brett isn't triple threat champ either cause he had his belt stolen twice, so he says it's a best of seven series between Rich and Gikaya with the first match starting tonight. Kyle says he's gonna go 4-0 on Gikaya. Maybe.

Stumpy 300lbs. "Land of 1000 Dances" & Big Pappa 400lbs. New Orleans, LA vs. Kandi Deluxe 185lbs. Atlanta, GA & Black Dragon 205lbs. Osokaka, Japan - Sheesh, after I posted an interview with Stumpy, people with long daggers rushed out to complain about him. Kandi Deluxe is fresh off his departure from a certain group in Springfield. Personally I think he'll get more milage out of his wrestling career working regularly up in Peoria than what he says he wants to do. But who knows. MISMATCH!!! Kandi and Stumpy start the match, Kandi incidently defeated Stump last week. Kandi attacks, shoulderblock Stump, hip toss, slam. Tags Dragon and Pappa. Clothesline Pappa, elbow gets two. Stump and Pappa jump in and out to chop Dragon, and finish with double slaps on the back. Stump with a butt flip, but Dragon with a LOW BLOW. Tag Kandi, he works Stump in the corner, a slow whip that's reversed easily, Kandi tries a sunset but gets sat on. Tag Pappa, shoulderblock, elbow gets two. Tag Sump, double whip, double chops. Kick, splash Stump gets tow. Pappa in, Kandi clips the leg and works it over. He foolishly tries a Boston crab but can't carry the weight. Tag Dragon, he goes to a leg scissors. Tag Kandi, who runs into a BLACK HOLE SLAM for one thats broken up. Tags. Stump slams the heels, back body drop on Dragon, powerslam on Kandi. Powerbomb and second rope legdrop combo pins Dragon in a decent opener.

WINNERS: Stumpy & Big Pappa pin -> 9:20 mins. **½

People's Choice Championship - Six-Man Survivor Series Match
(c)Sinnister 300lbs. Sinn City, TripC Cory Carter 250lbs. Englewood, CA & Morton Van Prose 200lbs. Cambridge, MA vs. Ryan Phoenix 185lbs. E. St. Louis, IL, Jester 200lbs. Peoria, IL & Johnny Justice 170lbs. Huntington, WV - Johnny Justice apparently was hit with a fireball a few weeks ago and comes out wearing a mask. TripC apparently put up Sinnister's belt without his permission last week for this challenge match and Sinnister's not too happy about it. So as it stands, only Phoenix, Jester or Justice can win the title, if Sinnister is eliminated but TripC or MVP survive...ugh what happens next? If two or three members of Pheonix, Jester and Justice survive is the title gonna be split or do they have an instant playoff? This is why singles belts shouldn't be defended in tag matches. That's what sinister six eliminations are for. Ryan and MVP start, and Ryan hits the trio. MVP with a poke, strength test and Ryan powers him down for two, and hits the northern lights for two. Top rope armdrag by Ryan, clotheslines hit and Phoenix with a KO punch. Tag Sinnister and he hits the clothesline, snap mare, kicks, senton gets two. Sinnister with a modified Widow's Peak gets two. Tag Jester, double back body drop and everyone starts fighting on floor. Ryan proceeds to do a suicide dive on everyone from the ring. Order is restored, TripC and Justice in. They elbow each other, tag Ryan, double whip elbow, clothesline, snap mare, dropkick gets two. Tag Jester, armbar and punch double team, superkick gets two. Ram to the corner, tag Justice. Justice with shoulderblocks, and he proceeds with the three amigos on TripC! Tag Jester, slingshot senton. Tag Ryan, suplex, frog splash gets two. Crossarm backbreaker by Phoenix gets two. Jester puts a chair in the ring, tosses it to Sinnister and drops dead to sucker the ref. The ref doesn't DQ him though. TripC with a splash in the corner, pedigree on Jester and he's gone.

Jester, you ARE the weakest link! Goodbye! At 10 mins by pin.

Ryan Phoenix comes in, hits an elbow and rolls up TripC for three.

TripC, you ARE the weakest link! Goodbye! At 10:10 mins by pin.

Sinnster whips Phoenix to the corner with a clothesline. TripC and Jester brawl to the back. Justice in, Sinnister in with a suplex, tag MVP. Clip, leg stretch pull, and works the leg on the rope...leading up to the sharpshooter by MVP! Justice turns it into a modified figure four. Sinnister in with a choke, whip spinning side slam. MVP in for two. And Sinnister and MVP make a wish. Justice tags Ryan, dropkick gets two. But MVP with the KICK WHAM STUNNER on Phoenix and that gets the pin.

Ryan Phoenix, you ARE the weakest link! Goodbye! At 15:55 mins by pin.

Sinnister in, Justice in, Justice goes to work on the leg of Sinnister, ref distract, LOW BLOW, Justice hits an UNREALISTIC chokeslam on Sinnister for the pin. Sinnister can't believe what happened, and I ain't believing it.

Sinnister, you ARE the weakest link! Goodbye! At 17:10 mins by pin.

Okay, whoever it is that's left is gonna win the title. MVP or Justice. Clothesline Justice on MVP gets two. DDT Justice, he goes up, but MVP bumps the ropes to crotch him. MVP fetches the belt, the ref takes it away from him, Justice with a crossbody off the top and that gets the pin and the title.

WINNER, SOLE SURVIVOR and NEW CHAMP: Johnny Justice pin -> 18:30 mins. ***½

Jester and Ryan Phoenix come back out to congrat Justice on the title win.

NGW Triple Threat Champ "Asian Sensation" Brett Gikaya 145lbs. Japan vs. Kyle Rich 185lbs. Sunnyland, IL - The first of the best of seven series. And Kyle has a bag in hand to cover up the "ugliest person" in the audience. Oh great, cause I seem to be the only one "playing it up" he thinks about putting it on me so I stick my arm up against my head. He puts it on a girl behind me. Brett comes out and goes after Rich...619 using the apron and bottom rope! Rich in the ring, and Brett tries a springboard, but slips and hits the mat. Oh that was embarassing. Rich takes advantage, whip armdrag, fireman's carry slam. Rich flying headscissors, armdrag, armbar, chop, choke, sidekick gets two. And Rich chokes away with the tape from the wrists. Kyle with a hip toss into a neckbreaker, baseball slide dropkick and the action slips outside. Back in, Kyle with a BOOT, drop slam gets two. Whip to the corner and Kyle misses the charge! Brett with a springboard tornado DDT gets two. Brett works the leg, then hits a running kneeshot for two. Flipping dropkick by Brett, moonsault gets two. Rich uppercut, and does an uppercut on the BACK of the head, he grinds his knee into the back of the neck, chops, kicks, senton gets two. High knee by Brett gets two. Rich slugs him down, axe kick gets two. 3/4 facelock Rich, hangs him on the rope, wicked spinning neckbreaker by Rich but does a bad cover for two. Crossarm backbreaker, followed by a jumping inverted DDT by Kyle for two. Kyle puts him on the top rope, they fight from a crossbody and Brett hurraconannas for two. Brett tries some pin combos until they land dueling spinning heel kicks to knock them both down for a nine count. They're back up, they slug it out, Brett hits a springboard inverted DDT, tries to dive on him from the top rope, Brett rolls through and locks in a submission hold he calls "Dakota Heat" and Brett can't escape! Well nice opening match in the series.

WINNER: Kyle Rich KO -> 15:45 mins. ****

15-Man Royal Rumble - NGW Tag Team Championship
The NGW tag titles are vacant, and the winner of this rumble gets the belts and gets to name anyone he wants to be his tag partner. I don't think it's the best way to determine tag champs but what can you do. It's flat one minute intervals in between entries. #1 is Morton Van Prose and #2 is Ryan Phoenix. Crowd is not happy to see MVP again. Rumble starts off, Ryan hits a high knee, suplex, spin punch and the next guy is coming out. MVP stops to stare as does Phoenix, and #3 is Ace Dorrity? Yep, fresh off his departure from the other fed in Springfield, he makes his debut here. And they attack him, Phoenix and MVP with a chained crossarm nelson and figure four. And #4 is Sinnister, but he doesn't enter the ring right away, opting to camp. Ace works MVP, hits a clothesline. Crossface by Phoenix. #5 is Black Dragon, but is quickly eliminated by Sinnister at 4:09! Ryan goes after a leg. #6 is late, or missed their cue...Ray Hez finally comes out. Sinnister is camping outside. Ryan pounds MVP. LOW BLOW MVP! Ray Hez with a suplex. Sinnister is forced to get back in. #7 is Kody Kash. Ryan gets dumped by Sinnister at 6:10 mins! Party Boyz pound MVP. Sinnister chokes Ace. They make a wish with MVP's legs! #8 is Stumpy! Stumpy with a stinkface on MVP! Sinnister pokes Hez, Kash chops MVP. #9 is Johnny Justice and goes right after MVP! Stumpy & Hez chop each other, Sinnister tries to get Ace out, but he slips in under the apron. Stumpy tries to toss him again but only one foot touches the floor. #10 is TripC! Hez tosses Ace but he hangs on. MVP tries to dump Justice, Stumpy stinkfaces Dorrity! Welcome to NGW! MVP rope burns Justice. #11 is Jester and goes after TripC! Sinnister headbutt on Hez. TripC saves MVP. Toss through the ropes goes Kash but he's still in. #12 is Dennis Devine and Stumpy goes after him! Hez whips Dorrity hard in the corner. MVP tries to dump Hez, TripC chops Ace! Hez and Justice almost go out. TripC chops Dorrity and Sinnister is camping outside again. #13 is Buzz Rogers! Stumpy sits on someone. The slugging all over continues, Buzz rakes Hez. Justice tries to dump MVP. #14 is Kandi Deluxe...and someone is coming out with him? He's identified as Mark Whitney! Justice is about to go...but hangs in. Ray kicks away on someone. #15 is Big Pappa and we're filled up. Sinnister finally backdrops Dorrity out at 14:30 mins. Dennis Devine is dumped out by Stumpy at 14:45! Stumpy dumps Kandi out at 15:20, but Mark Whitney jumps in the ring and dumps Stumpy out at 15:30. That shouldn't even count. Jester fights Sinnister. Kody Kash is dumped out by MVP at 16:20 mins. Sinnister chokes Pappa. TripC knees Hez. TripC chops Hez. Jester chops MVP. TripC dumps Hez, Sinnister dumps Rogers at 17 mins. Justice dumps MVP, but he stupidly hops the top rope to go after him, eliminating himself! Ugh. And there's a big brawl on the floor, Hez, Rogers, Justice, MVP are brawling in the aisle and run out the front door. It's now the final four, now pinfalls and submissions are counted. Justice after TripC, Sinnister after Pappa. TripC and Sinnister hit their finishers on Jester and Pappa at 19 mins. TripC wants the match declared over and them made tag champs, but Sinnister turns on TripC, spinebuster! Sinnister locks in a submission hold, called the Blood Mood and TripC taps!

WINNER and NEW CHAMP: Sinnister -> 19:50 mins. N/A

No rating for the rumble, though a lot of people missed their cues to hit the ring and there was confusion on whether the minute starts when the guy hits the ring or if it's one minute in between whether the guy shows up or not. They probably should had went with a longer interval, considering the time they had left over to fill. Quick stats on the rumble. Sinnister scored the most eliminations with six, Stumpy & TripC tied for second with two each. Longest in was MVP at 17:15 mins, Sinnister was second at 16:50 mins. Shortest in was Black Dragon in under 10 seconds. So who's Sinnister is gonna name as his partner? He says he's not ready to name someone yet and to wait until next week. Well it's the end of the New Era. TripC stumbles out yelling and screaming.

Hardcore Match
NGW Heavyweight Champion Chris Hazard 235lbs. Naperville, IL vs. Deacon Hobbs 250lbs. Cinninatti, OH - They discuss the missing title belt, geez, just get another belt to replace the missing one. This is a "street fight" which means hardcore rules are in effect. They warn everyone to flee if they start fighting in the seats. Hazard comes out in a white t-shirt. First lockup, no dice...but wait! Hobbs has a long cut on the side of his neck! What the heck? How'd THAT happen? Okay ladies and gentlemen...let me state for the record, I HATE BLADING. Hobbs yells "so you wanna fight dirty?" Hip toss by Hobbs, slam, rock bottom attempt is blocked. Hazard fetches a chair, Hobbs goes after Hazard on the floor. Hazard ram to the post, then the announce table, shot to the back, slam on the floor! And I take the chance to move to the back of the room. Hazard tosses him in, puts the chair in the ring. Hobbs has the chair and BAM! That HAD to hurt. Hobbs covers but only gets two. Hazard bleeds now. Hobbs pickup attempt blocked, his back gives out. Hazard stomps away and works the arm, Hazard knee drop, flatliner! Hazard is gonna Pillmanize the arm, STOMP! People in the first three rows evacuate, good idea. Hazard charges and Hobbs backdrops Hazard outside to the floor! Into the wall goes Hazard, then into the front row of seats! Hobbs in the ring, goes for the F5 and hits it for...TWO! No way. Hazard rolls out, he LEAVES! Hazard comes back with a chair. Hazard swings and misses, Hobbs with the ROCK BOTTOM for TWO! Hobbs gets pitched outside, a section of chairs is evacuated, Hobbs is sat down for Hazard to SPEAR THROUGH THREE ROWS OF CHAIRS!!! THAT IS IT!!!

WINNER: Chris Hazard pin -> 11:20 mins. ***

Match was okay, but quit playing with blades. Show comes to a close, but they have another half hour of time left to fill!

The aftermath of the show, Deacon Hobbs has a back injury and is out of action indefinately. Though his back was already damaged before the spear, this didn't help matters. Since I didn't attend the show the week after, Sinnister named his tag partner, and that person was the Mississippi Madman! Well it's about time some wrestlers from NMW made their way to NGW.

The verdict: Show was a little short as they said it would be a three hour event and it ended up being 2 1/2. Nothing major to complain about though, other than the half hour of talking at the start. I think they should had started with an opening match then did the talk sessions after. I just wish it didn't take an hour and 15 to drive up there.

Thumbs up.
