The Rap Sheet - from the Mad Conservative
Ulimate Velocity Wrestling
2/19/2K6 Springfield, IL
Everything has some rough beginnings...
Well here we have the latest addition to the alphabet soup of wrestling fed names. First a little background on the formation of this organization. Back a few months ago, three people working for 3CW for one reason or another got fed up with how things were going in that organization, those being Kandi Deluxe, Ace Dorrity, and Vampire Kaval, and left the organization. For a few weeks, attempts were made to convince these guys that it wouldn't be productive to start another wrestling organization with all the ones out there already, and major doubts that Springfield could support three feds in town (for a while there was a threat of a fourth). In the meantime, they joined the roster up in Peoria for NGW (a few of them had started coming down to Springfield to do 3CW) but still intended to put on their own shows in Springfield. Eventually they registered the name of the new fed, and scheduled their first couple shows.
The first event was held at Club 217, which was where NMW ran four shows weekly a couple years ago. Problem was, it was a low ceiling venue, for adults only, and it just did not draw fans at all. So it would be interesting to see how this event draws, with all the advertising that was put in. Unfortunately it didn't help much at all, only 25-30 fans showed up. For some reason the sound system in this nightclub was not working well, the microphones squealed and buzzed a lot, as if I was talking through a bullhorn. The sound guy showed up late too. The wrestling ring belonged to Buzz Rogers, where it was lower to the ground allowing some moves off the top, but the thing was made of wood, except for the ring posts, and felt rock hard even despite the padding. Thus, people were afraid to bump on it.
Live from Club 217. Your commentary team is the Mad Conservative Crimefighter and "The Big Spender" Billy Reno. Your ring announcer is Mark Harrison, who eventually gave up on the crappy mikes and just shouted the participants names.
The commissioner for UVW Nicholai DeTriste comes out to run down the lineup for tonight, and announces the names for the title tournament next weekend. Chris Hazard, Stumpy, Kyle Rich, Raul Montenegro, Ryan Phoenix, Buzz Rogers, Jester, and Ryan O'Neil. That brings out Vampire Kaval, who is angry he wasn't included in the tourney. He says he's the most dominant wrestler in all of wrestling. I dunno about that. Nicholai says all the people in the tourney was selected by a blind draw. Kaval scoffs at it, so Nicholai says he's in a 6-man elimination match that's no-DQ. If he wins it, he'll reconsider.
Catalyst Cory Carter vs. Jaxson Pride - Well these two have been fueding for quite a while up north. Armbar Pride, TripC with a rake, Pride with a clothesline. TripC whips him to the corner, misses a charge, Pride takes over, but gets LOW BLOWED, rollup with the tights by TripC and it's over!
WINNER: TripC pin -> 4 mins. *½
Petey & Jessie Clark vs. Black Dragon & Black Angel - Have no idea who Black Angel is, none. If he's someone I know, I couldn't guess who yet. But boy them guys kept flashing me the ninja stance acting goofy. The Clarks are GAW tag champs right now. Dragon starts working the arm of Jessie, Jessie clobbers him down for two. Dragon goes in the wrong corner and Petey comes in, Dragon with a rake, twists that arm and tags Angel. Angel really works that arm and tags Dragon, he goes up and drops an axe to damage that arm. Dragon ties up Petey like a pretzel, Angel with a legdrop on the back of the head. Petey hits a clothesline and throws a few haymakers for two. Tag Jessie, knees to the gut, DDT gets two. Chops traded, choke by Angel, tag Dragon. He punts the arm, goes to a hammerlock and modified dragon sleeper, Jessie snapmares him over. Jessie puts a sleeper hold on, but it's not very effective with a mask worn, clothesline Dragon. Tags Angel and Petey, Angel kicks away for two. Angel chokes, kicks Jessie to the stage, and gets a crippler crossface on Petey Clark. Dragon goes after Jessie, fighting on the stage, and into a cage. What's that cage doing here? Dragon ties him up in there with his jacket, referee isn't paying attention to it, Angel works on Petey. Someone comes out from the back to sit, but gets chased off by Dragon. Referee goes to assist Jessie now, sword shot on Petey, Angel covers but referee ain't coming and gets mad. Angel slaps on what I think is a chokeslam, ref calls for the bell, and I think he's been DQ'ed, but NOOOO...it was a nerve hold, so it was a tapout.
WINNERS: Black Dragon & Black Angel submission -> 11:30 mins. **
Stumpy vs. Unbelievable Andy Roberts - I repeatedly mock Andy's nickname, what's so unbelievable about him? And his shirt says "No Whining". Stumpy with a clothesline, shot to the gut and slam. Armbar Andy, chops traded, kick to the ropes Andy, works the leg, baseball slide to the groin, back splash. Camel clutch attempt by Andy, but Stumpy's too big for him so Stumpy rams him in the corner, slam, legdrop gets two. Powerslam gets three. Andy removes the shirt and storms off, and I repeatedly say he's not allow to whine.
WINNER: Stumpy pin -> 6:15 mins. *½
JC Michaels comes out saying he can beat anyone in under five minutes, and points to multiple people in the crowd. He claims no one has the balls to face him. Well here comes Dennis Devine, who's head is taped up from the previous evening, where Kev G threw him into the side of the ring cutting a big notch in his head that required it being glued shut and still got infected. Devine says he'd accept it for another day, just not today, despite being signed for the match. He's not afraid of him. JC attacks him anyway.
JC Michaels vs. Dennis Devine - JC pounds him down, SPLASH in the corner! JC chokes him down. Devine fires back and hits the bronco buster! Handspring elbow, snap mare Devine gets two. Devine's gotta be hurting. Devine charges and misses his target, rollup using the ropes JC and gets the pin. Devine is holding his head. We go to intermission.
WINNER: JC Michaels pin -> 2:15 mins. ½*
Raven Fury vs. Richard Biggs - Raven would be the one we know as Jokaz or Jesse James Hollywood. Biggs clobbers Raven, knee to the gut, DDT gets one. Raven misses a shining wizard attempt, Biggs clotheslines him down. Slam by Biggs, big splash gets two! Biggs splash/clothesline in the corner! Biggs misses another charge and hits the post, Raven pounds away, cartwheel forearm shot! Misses another, Biggs slams him for two. Raven pounds away, whip clothesline for two. Legdrop to the gut Raven for two. Biggs with a LOW BLOW! Gut wrench slam Biggs get two. Legdrop by Biggs only gets two. Raven spinning heel kick, slowly gets up, side slam Biggs gets two. Gut wrench suplex Biggs gets two. Biggs clothesline flips Raven over, spinebuster gets two. Biggs pickup, Raven reverses for a DDT, spinneroonie! Biggs charges, drop toe hold Raven, 217 at the club! Spinning leg neckbreaker Raven finishes for three.
WINNER: Raven Fury pin -> 9:55 mins. *¾
Hardcore Match
"Sinnister" Raul Montenegro vs. Buzz Rogers - The fight begins and Raul's nailing Buzz with SPIKES! Action spills outside Sinnister bangs Buzz's head into my table! Darn it, now I have to flee! Someone says ring his bell with the ring bell...that's a good idea. Toss into the post, Sinnister pounds away, chairshot! Sinnister goes backstage looking for something, he brings out an extention ladder! Buzz comes back with an elbow off the top, enzuigiri for two. Chair in play...BOOM! Sinnister sets up the ladder across the ring and bar tables, dumps Buzz out! Knee lift by Sinnister, slam on the ladder and gets the pin. Hard hitting action, Buzz certainly needs a medic.
WINNER: Raul Montenegro pin -> 8 mins. **½
Survivor Series - No DQ
Vampire Kaval, Apriq Laveq & Chris Hazard vs. Lucion Venom, Axis & Deacon Hobbs - Venom would be the man formerly known as Kandi Kane, and comes out carrying a snake. Deacon starts with Apriq, suplex and Apriq tags Kaval. Hobbs clotheslines him down, tag Axis, sideslam Hobbs, and Axis I see is wearing sunglasses...doesn't he remember what happened to Curtis Hughes? Kaval hits a snapmare. Reno seems stuck on Hot Topic as the place where everyone gets their ring attire, try Highspots. Hazard tagged, pounds Axis, elbow gets two. Hazard rams Axis in the corner, shoulderblocks, Hazard wants someone to tag in, so Hobbs comes in, and it's a knockdown dragout! Hazard and Hobbs fight into the crowd, toss into the side of the bar, and they fight all the way to the back...Hazard thrown though the door! They don't return.
Deacon Hobbs & Chris Hazard you ARE weakest links! Goodbye! Double forfeit -> 6 mins.
Venom fights Apriq in the ring as the match continues. Kaval and Axis fight in the crowd, suplex into the RING POST! Kaval kneedrops on Axis, death valley driver into a backbreaker! The fight goes back into the crowd with the four men, someone hits a bar table, suicide dive! Axis hits a dropkick. Atomic drop, drop kick to the face on Apriq and that gets the pin.
Apriq Laveq, you ARE the weakest link! Goodbye! Axis pins Apriq -> 11 mins.
Kaval sneaks up and rolls Axis up for a pin!
Axis, you ARE the weakest link! Goodbye! Kaval pins Axis -> 11:05 mins.
Two men left. Venom hits a clothesline for two. Kaval kicks away, legdrop two. Chair in, chairshots Kaval get two. Action spills outside again, Venom is bashed into the table, Kaval puts him on it, goes up and flies over the rail onto Venom! They go to the stage, Kaval bashes him with a weapon and tries to cover there but has to do it in the ring. Kaval gets dropped on a chair, bending that thing and Kaval riles in agony. Tombstone Venom on another chair gets two. Apriq Laveq runs out here, despite being eliminated to help Kaval, Venom tries to fight them both off, but gets taken out with a death valley driver and Kaval wins it. Sheesh.
WINNER and SOLE SURVIVOR: Vampire Kaval pin -> 16:25 mins. ***
Kaval and Apriq continue to beat on Venom, Kaval scoffs at me for saying it's over, swinging neckbreaker onto a chair as Axis runs back out to chase them off, a second too late to make the save.
Triple Threat
Kyle Rich vs. Ryan Phoenix vs. Brett Gikaya - Well with the ceiling beams as an obstacle, we'll see how much flying these guys do in this building. Brett Gikaya comes out, and immeadiately jumps over the walkway rail onto Ryan! Yikes. Kyle and Brett slug it out, Ryan pulls Kyle out and they slug it out, Brett suicide flips through the ropes into them! And I get up and head for safety. Brett whips Kyle to the bar table but stops, Ryan charges but gets backdropped over! Audience scatters! Brett charges, hops on the table and headscissors Ryan down. Brett hops on the table, but Kyle kicks him off. Kyle throws Brett in the ring, armdrags Brett, dropkick. Ryan in, Brett wheelbarrow and headscissors takes them both down. Ryan and Kyle clothesline each other trying to hit Brett, flying headbutt gets two, but on kickouts put Brett on the other guy a few times. Heh. Brett pounds on Kyle, Ryan nails him, hits a backbreaker for two. Double whip, drop toe hold, back splash combo gets two. Ryan ain't gonna let HIM win. Double whip, double backbreaker and rib breaker, double chinbreaker, double dropkick gets two. Ryan picks up Brett and swings him, Kyle dropkicks Brett. They slug it out, Brett charges and is lifted, but he hangs off the ceiling beam and dropkicks both foes! The owner of the club is gonna be chewing Gikaya out after the show for doing that! Brett pounds both guys, spinning karate kick on Kyle, inverted neckbreaker followed by a spinning neckbreaker on Ryan (Dennis Devine says it wasn't...looked like one to me!) gets two. Kyle hits a jawbreaker on Brett, face first spinning neckbreaker for two. Forearm shot on Kyle gets two. Brett trades chops with Ryan, Kyle hits a dropkick on Ryan. WINNER: Kyle Rich pin -> 12:20 mins. ****¼
